So you need to have a 90 day old statement? I’ve been keeping an eye on the stock price to see if it drops enough for me to bite because I have two cruises coming up, but the first of these is in less than 90 days. The form doesn’t say anything about 90 days. Did you find this info elsewhere?

I bought it in June and then showed them my July 31st statement and it was fine.

No, not what they are saying.  You need a current statement, so one that is 90 days old could be denied.

I don't think there's a hard and fast rule with this. Technically you're supposed to own the shares at the time of sailing but they don't follow-up to confirm you do on embarkation. I just submitted a trade confirmation slip/receipt (not statement) for my next cruise and they accepted it.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear.  The statement needs to be less than 90 days old.  Even a recent purchase confirmation will work.  They just want something recent so they’re reasonably sure you still hold it when you apply for the benefit.  So you should be good.  😃

I've provided a trade confirmation prior to my last cruise because I made the trade about a month before embarkation and did not have a statement yet. I also redacted my account number. The OBC was credited to my account relatively quickly.

I actually prefer the trade confirmation bc so much less information is on it. I'll have to redact so much more from the monthly statement so they don't see all my losses!

I think what they are saying is that you can't use a statement that is 90 days old.  I use the most recent one (last month) or get a print out of current standings of stock.  So my statement is usually 1 to 30 days old.  No problem using it.

I do not know how far in advance one can submit the shareholder benefit form but I submitted mine in june 2023 for a cruise in Feb 2024.  I was given the credit.

I've submitted a request 13 months in advance, no problem.

So what can we use the OBC for if not gratuities or casino?   I had hoped to use it towards gratuities.  I try not to spend a lot on ship.   Excursions?

pretty much just drinks, food, and shopping

yes, you can use it for excursions.  I don't know if it was a mistake or not, but on my last cruise I used my OBC to pay for excursions, and when I received the $50 credit back, it came back as refundable OBC., so I was actually able to cash it out at the end of the cruise.  I've also used OBC to pay for upgrading the FAS drink package

I'm not 100% sure about the casino.  I've been able to use it, 2 different cruises, when I've bought CruiseNext certificates and gotten cash in the casino - but I don't know which one because it was all done the same day. Next time I sail I'll see if it works in the casino, don't need any more CNs at the moment.

Yes, you can use for excursions booked onboard.

The OBC from a CN purchase is monopoly money.  It's simply a credit against the CN itself, so you were not actually using OBC in the casino.  You were simply charging casino $$$ to your room

I already have the drink package and 2 specialty restaurants, so not sure what else I will need to use OBC on.  On an anniversary trip, I used it for photos but I won't be needing them this trip.  Maybe book another cruise with it as a deposit or cruise next deposit?

I'm talking about the SH obc - I know how the CN obc works.

If I buy 2 CNs, have $100 SH obc, and charge $100 to my room in the casino and my final charge is $253, the $100 SH obc is being used to pay for either the CN or the casino charges.

The SH OBC is not supposed to be able to be applied to CN or the Casino, but if they did do that, congrats on the error in your favor.

Yes, that's what I've been led to believe.  But it's happened twice now, 2 different ships. I'll take the win!

No not a big deal.

We became printer-less about a year ago, so this it just requires me to hoof it to the library to print 🙂

Still no need to print. Can save just the pages of statement you want to your desktop as a PDF, then use a paint program to black out the account number, resave then attach to email. Can do the same with the form. Save, use another program to "type" in your info, resave.

Thanks - we were able to edit the pdf and statements electronically and received confirmation of our OBC on Monday - 😄
