RCCL ship staying overnight in Cozumel

my question is-does anyone know if you can get off and on ship regardless of the time if the ship is staying overnight at the port? I am cruising November 27th on the Voyager out of Galveston.  Cozumel is the only stop.  Thank you for any information.

Unless the port has a stated "curfew" type of restriction, which I am not aware of with Cozumel, then there should be no restriction other than logically when the shore venues would close for the night.  When the ships are overnight in Bermuda, for example, you can come and go as you please.  But typically everyone is back on board once the local bars, etc., close. But there is no ship-based restriction.

Sounds like a interesting cruise , Bermuda is the only port I have stayed at that was there overnight, love Cozumel.

Have you ever been to the backside of Cozumel?  Beautiful ocean scenery and five interesting bar / restaurants.  Only open during the day.  Well kept secret from most visitors.

We stayed overnight in Hong Kong a couple weeks ago and we could come and go anytime, day or night.

We have been there overnight.
 

I don’t recall any restrictions but we didn’t get off as we had a toddler and have done lots of land based visits to Cozumel.

 

It would be much better if they could  stop at Punta Langosta for overnight stops. Lots of great restaurants in town that only open at night.

Stayed overnight in Aruba and Curaçao last year. Lisbon and Ibiza this year. In all cases you could come and go as you  please from “gangway down” to “all aboard.”

Stayed overnight in Cozumel.  There were no restrictions and you could come and go as you pleased.  They also let crew members from there go home to see their families and spend the night.  We had a wonderful time except the stores in the port were shut down and the shops on the ship and the casino was closed.

We've stayed overnight in Nassau a couple of times and one time in Port Canaveral (ship repair).  I've never heard of Cozumel being an overnight before.

As others have stated, unless there is a local curfew, the ship serves as a 'hotel' overnight.

Several scheduled overnight stops at Cozumel from Galveston plus itinerary changes when unable to dock at Costa Maya. 
 

It would be better if they could dock at Langosta - lots of good restaurants in town only open at night that you could walk to.

Thank you all so much for your input.  We did a Bermuda cruise a few years back and it was great to not have a time constraint.  We want to check out and eat at a couple of local restaurants while docked there.  Again, thanks for all your responses.

Okay, but as I said, I've never heard of it before.  Never said it doesn't happen.  We do not cruise out of Galveston but have been to Cozumel about 10 times.

Have overnighted in Aruba and Cabo San Lucas with RCCL. Both ports, the ship is treated like a floating hotel. Come and go as you please. In Cabo, it is a tender port so you might have to wait more than 30 minutes in the wee hours of the morning if you want to return to ship.

Same when ships were allowed in Venice and stayed overnight.
