Yeshiva Week 2024 Cruises Check Your Dates

Recommended Posts

Here's the flyer for the cruises that will be impacted by Yeshiva Week. There have been threads in the past on here how it impacts the cruises. We unknowingly booked on one last year. Part of the Solarium and the Solarium Bistro was closed to regular guest the entire week. A search on here will show other things that may impact your vacation.

Can't recall if it a Oasis sail on August 20 or October 8 that the Solarium Bistro was closed every day for the Orthodox Hebrew faith.  There was a large population on board.

I would say the Man Upstairs did the outsourcing, and He has agents on each ship.  Big advantage - hundreds of gueses are doing their own "Specialty Dining" in the Solarium bistro, this leaves much more opportunity for me in Chops.  There are still reservations available at all times in the Specialty Restaurants, and RCCL is even extending sales for dining.

Their own "specialty dining" in SB, nope! Walking near it we never seen many people. They were in Windjammer and at times I think all of them were at the pizza! For it to be a January there were very large crowds including lots of out of control kids.

There's no warning from TA's or Royal on these sailings. I've been on cruises with all kinds of large groups and not bothered but during this particular cruise I was so ready for it to end. The cruise was still better than being at work! lol

I am booked on one of the cruises. I have since learned that The Solarium will be OPEN, but the Solarium Bistro is CLOSED to general passengers all week.  Wonder, Jan 14 cruise

We were on Oasis during yeshiva week this past January.  It was a nightmare.  The solarium being off limits was an inconvenience,  but the kids running everywhere, bumping into people, literally climbing the hallway walls (using the railings by the state rooms).... never again...

That's the same cruise I was on. Kids everywhere acting up more than normal kid behavior and parents doing nothing. It was a horrible cruise.

MY understanding is that depending on how many people sign up for the program it could be either at the solarium Bistro or a closed off part of the Windjammer.  That will be determined at a later date.

As for the pizza they will NEVER eat pizza from Sorento as whole shop is very very unkosher.  They might have had pizza as part of the Fresh Kosher package, and you might have seen them walking around the Promenade with it.

Basically the same experience on Harmony in 2022.
I’d say consideration for others is not part of their curriculum.

We are on the January 21 sailing, as a free Prime casino cruise. We are leaning more and more towards smaller ships and this cruise might be the boost we need to say “no more” to the Oasis class. It is tempting to choose newer and more expensive ships when there is no cost, but next year’s cruise will probably be chosen with different priorities.

WRONG INFO. SORRY.   Correct date should be Wonder, January 21.

Got my cruises mixed up. I am booked on Wonder JANUARY 21 and that is the week that the solarium bistro is closed to general passengers.

sorry if I caused any confusion

I was on the Aug 20th sailing on Oasis - they had a special line at Sorrento's for Kosher pizza offerings. The line was really long, but the one for regular Sorrento's was actually pretty quick.

If this was a sailing with a Fresh Kosher program, then the special line would be supervised and okay.  If not in the program I would be very wary of it

Last year we booked Anthem 11 night sailing on Jan 18th with a JS at a great price with a casino certificate.

After everything I read about Yeshiva week we decided to cancel.

I was so looking forward to that cruise and those ports but didnt want to chance the ship being overrun by kiddos.

Casino gave us full refund.
