Princess issued a press release that coke freestyle machines would be coming to their ships.

Never happened.

 

Back in 2018ish, Princess issued many, many releases about the date various ships would be available for use with medallions.

Virtually none of those were true.

It was sadly comical.

So far, my dining reservations are ok.

 

This next cruise was booked almost two years ago.

I'm booked with Plus but the app says I don't have a package and wants to charge me shipping for the Medallion. 🙄

My bookings show the same, but if you click on the Personaliser link on that screen it will show the package you have booked. Unbelievable that this has been a problem for so long yet remains unfixed.

 

I have two cruises booked yet when I open the second one, I keep getting shore excursions for the first cruise. Now that the new App has been delayed, it gives me continued great confidence. 

 

And my new expression for today.....FUBAR. never heard that so thanks @SargassoPirate. I had to Google it as I had no recognition of it, but now I'm informed.

I think we are all going through this and it is why I.always travel with a screenshot of my travel summary

I've taken a printed version of my Travel Summary on every cruise. It's cheap and easy insurance.

On the ship the app showed my package and told me how many drinks I had already consumed that day. Of course they most often charged my wife's drinks on my account as it was "easier" for them rather than doing it properly so I often showed many more drinks than I had actually consumed.

 

On our recent 63 day trip there was a "break" in the middle where we had no package for 7 days. We had a mini bar for each segment so I had 3 mini bars to "tide me over" but my wife stocked up in advance of the "drought". She would go to the aft bar and get a couple of beers unopened and, if I was there at the time, she got a couple more so she had a stock of decent beer for the package-free days. Naturally, even though she was the one ordering, they would charge all 4 beers to my account.  🙄

We always have to insist that they charge one drink to each account. The only bar that doesn’t need to be reminded for some reason is the casino bar. At one point I was up to 20 drinks and she was showing 4. That does not compute

IT is definitely messing with the App.  I checked today, and see more errors than I’ve ever seen.

 

I’m not going to touch anything, I’ll  just wait for a while.

 

It shows I have 5 cruises confirmed in my profile.  No, actually I have 2.  It has the wrong loyalty color for one of us. It doesn’t show the wearable medallion orders. It doesn’t show the mednet I purchased for my cruises.

 

It DOES show I’m in the green lane for a cruise I didn’t even book. SMH

 

I could go on and on. So,

if you check the App and see these whacko errors, I’d just check the website and make sure it is correct, print your travel summary and let it go for a while.

 

Unbelievable.

Trust me...... as someone with upcoming cruises on both Princess and Holland America..... Princess is a dream in comparison to HAL!

 

HAL just "updated" their website.... you would think something abysmal couldn't get worse, right? You would be wrong. 🙄

Yup, they spend literally billions of dollars on their ships, but apparently little of nothing on IT support.

I'm just wondering if we'll need to get the latest and greatest operating systems and have to replace our current devices to use the new 'upgrade.'  Nope....not gonna happen.  I'm not buying new devices just so I can spend thousands on a cruise in the first place.

Wouldn't surprise me if they share at least some IT resources.

They are spending for certain - just poorly done like someone on high is clueless about quality IT.

Yes where are all the posters who were saying yeah yeah the blogger got it right ?  I am sailing in January and am betting there will still not be a new app
