POT smoking on balcony?

Recommended Posts

Hello we just got off of Oasis of the seas.   Noticed Pot smell on our balcony at all times.  Even POT smell in public areas and bathrooms.      Overheard some other cruises bragged how easy it was to sneak on some weed in Nassau on board and how Carnival is cracking down and Royal Caribbean is not.    We alerted security they said its like trying to find moving fish in a ocean, difficult to find the violators.   Just curious anyone else noticing this.       I dont have an opinion for people who chose to smoke pot in there own privateplace I do have one in public places like a cruise.    Had a wonderful cruise food was by far the best we had since start up, service was outstanding.

I was sent a bottle of wine from an officer that asked to come into our cabin to be able to peer around our balcony to see the pot smokers next to us.  They were busted...not once but twice.

What happened to them? Were they put off the ship?

I smelled pot several times on our early November 2023 B2B (Allure and Odyssey).  I don't really care until it is blatant.  One guy made me laugh though ... The ship was moving so he opened a pool deck side window.  He stood right in front of the window but the air was blowing in.  He would have been better on the aft section of running track.  It amazes me that they think nobody detects the smell of pot.

But I imagine a day the RCL has a pot smoking section.  That would make two reasons to avoid that area!!

With it being legal in so many states now it's pretty much everywhere.  I personally don't partake,  couldn't if I wanted to, I have asthma. HOWEVER I'd much rather smell pot smoke and get a Lil buzzzz than have to smell cigarette smoke that lingers and the smell catches on everything!

Also the people smoking weed are going to be much more mellow than the people trying to get their monies worth out of their drink package😉

You would think it would be easy to catch people smoking in the public areas.   Don't they have every inch of public spaces on video?

It really bothers my sinuses as does cigarette smoke.   If I see anyone smoking, I'll video it and report.

I agree with that having a separate area I believe Las Vegas is starting up cannabis lounges.  Maybe cruise lines will follow.

In the appetizers. Good way to get the customers to splurge on the wine, entrees and desserts.  Nothing like a good marijuana brownie. 🙂

True, but a-la "Pulp Fiction"/Amsterdam it may be legal but you're not allowed to just spark one up in the casino.

We live in Texas and it’s not legal here , but we visit family and friends in both New York and Colorado and have been very tempted to buying something but will stick with cognac

We took a picture of a pot store in New York earlier this year and there was a large no smoking sign in the store 😁😁

Well, you wouldn't want one carcinogen to compete with another carcinogen, would you?
