Lots!

They only have one “special” a day.

Actual veggies for Omelets.

Cooked sides- tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes, spinach

They offer BBQ beans and try to pass them off as breakfast beans.

Berries

Turkey/Veggie sausages

That’s just a starting point.

Holland America goes as far as offering an Indian breakfast on their menu.

Regal buffet had all those things including Eggs Benny at the omelet station.(Didn't see Indian breakfast but don't even know what that would be.)

Can I get a full suite for $4,000 dollars on a 14 day cruise on a casino deal ?  That’s for 2 people.

I play black Jack but apparently do not lose enough money to get anything from casino. 🥸

LOL, one thing I like about SB is that you do not find folks on casino deals.  Most of the times we have cruised on SB ships, the casino has not been very busy.

Heck, I don't even have a problem with the limited breakfast menu.  I'd just be happy if it ever came hotter than lukewarm.

Or later than 9:30am.

One thing I have read on these boards several times is to request James' Beard French Toast for breakfast in the MDR on Princess (not on the menu, but you can get it).

This is one thing that I was shocked they did not offer on RCCL when we 1st started sailing with them.  It is one thing we really enjoy on NCL cruises and will definitely be doing this embarkation day on Princess this March.

James Beard French Toast is on the Brunch Menu at lunchtime.

Is there really a comparison between the offerings of Princess and a Seabourn or Regent cruise? That’s like comparing a steak at Sizzler to a steak at Ruth’s Chris.

Princess ships carry somewhere between 2500 and 3500 passengers. The other two carry between 450 and 800 passengers. People eat at the same time. The sheer volume on large ships like Princess would make it hard to compete with smaller, luxury lines. Also, the price reflects the offering.

Honestly given the price differential, the money I saved with my Princess cruise vs. a Seabourn cruise lets me buy 100 restaurant steaks. Of course the difference may not be equal, and rich multimillionaires with tons of money to spare wouldn't care about costs, for those that do I think it's good for passengers to keep in mind what they signed up for. In my case, I'm quite easy to please with all the food offerings and saving my 100-steak money.

Princess on most ships have changed to a ‘new’ standard sea day lunch menu. A few items (maybe 3) change, but the majority is the same. An example is in the currentl live thread on the Emerald. There is no ‘brunch’ section as the new menu is separated by Appetizer and Mains. JB French toast is not listed  but possibly may be requested?

Who knows....it was on the Regal in October.

I believe the Discovery switched to the ‘new’ lunch menus late October.

Have you sailed since your October Regal?

You can order anything for breakfast. Doesn't have to be on the menu.

Not always. For example - they don't have a waffle iron in the dining room kitchen. I would often eat waffles when they made them at the ice cream place and then would join my Mom in the dining room. They asked why I don't eat with her and I mentioned I wanted waffles. They did surprise me by going up to Lido deck one day and getting me waffles but I doubt they would go up to Deck 14 daily to get someone waffles.

I have never seen crepes listed on the menu in the dining room. I have mixed luck with getting flavored (blueberry, banana, strawberry) pancakes in the dining room. They seem less likely to deviate from the menu these days. Asking for berries towards the end of the cruise awful meets with "we no longer have them in the dining room". Canteloupe and honey mellon are often tasteless.

If anyone has ordered toast - it is the worst. It arrives cold and the butter blend (with margarine) tastes awful on it.

In the dining room - they only know how to make the James Beard French toast. If I ask for regular French toast, they don't know how to make it. Though they can make it in the buffet. Makes no sense. I don't like the greasy taste of James Beard French toast. They don't understand the word crepe. I have had this on other lines. They understand "blitzes" but only in blueberry. They don't realize you can put other fruit into it.

Their breakfast menu and implementation needs some help.

Embankment Lunch? Here is it hosted? Guess I've been too excited to be onboard that I haven't taken notice...but I'm a newbie with only 2 cruises under my belt.

The absolutely best way to start a cruise.

Wow!  I'm a vegetarian. I've been cruising on Princess since 2005.  I am really excited about this menu!  I've not ever had to struggle to decide what to order as a main dish because I usually have one option.  This is amazing!

From @mrell345 Panama Canal full transit

Interesting, and disappointing to me that there is no soup listed.  Is that something that will be included with any daily specials offered?

I have gotten the offer for a mini suite & then called to upgrade for a full suite.

You pay the difference but it is not as much as you might think.

We always get free balconies and then pay the upgrade to a full suite. Been doing this for years. There are also OBC and free play which really brings the actual cost down

And if I understand this thread, this is the same lunch offered everyday? It feels a little like they are trying to convince people to choose the buffet or upgrade to a package or pay ala carte for casual dining.

Yeah...I'm excited NOT. We have a 54-day cruise booked in '26. Same menu every day on 7, 10, 15 day cruise...OK. But, 54 days? ☹️

I really like the look of this new menu.  Lots of options to mix things up, even on a longer cruise. And the upcharge items look to be a fairly good value.

But the MDR is usually only open on sea days.  How many of those 54 days are you in port?  Between the buffet, the Lido and the MDR, there's lots of options for variety.
