Exactly how much money does it take to get the "drinks on us" card? Would it work if my husband and I used the same sign and sail card at the machines so it adds up quicker? I guess I'm asking how this works haha :D Thanks!

Hello , It takes 1500 points. Just remember to hand in your card every time you play games and the tables or put in slot machine. It doesn't necessarily go by money spent it goes by time spent in casino and money bet . If you are regular in the casino and have cruised before email the casino and ask them if you are entitled to anything ?? If you don't they wont tell you . Iemail them every time I go on cruise and usually get the drinks on us card as soon as I board based on my play from my last cruise. If you don't ask you wont know

Does it matter what length cruise you're on? We are taking a short cruise in the fall (5 days) but usually take 7 or 8 day cruises. We don't usually spend a ton in the casino but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask. How do I get their e-mail? Thank you for responding!

It depends on the length of your cruise. If it is a 7 day cruise, it is 1500 points. 5 day is 1000 (I think). I'm not sure on any other cruises.

Anyway, it doesn't go by how much money you gamble, because sometimes you can win some back, then if you put that back in....see what I'm saying? It all depends how the machine is paying out. You just need to get to the number of points for your cruise.

Believe me, in most cases you have paid for your drinks. Also, to get the drinks, you have to be in the casino and actually playing. I've thought of using my DH's card so we could both use the same card, but I don't think we would still get enough points. We just aren't that big of gamblers.

As far as I know they won't give you a second card so you can get all your points on one card. I will check on this. The cost depends how much you win or lose. The points accumulate with each push of the button. More points the more you bet. It took me till day six to get the 1500 points to get my free drink card. By then so many people had them it took forever to get one. You ended up spending much more money staying at the machine waiting for your drink. One perk I got after both my last two cruises were free cruise offers. (Still of course pay port taxes and gratuities) those who get 5000 points get an offer on the last night of the cruise. Big gamblers may also get offered casino cash, free drink card from the beginning of the cruise, parties, gifts, etc.

On the Carnival Paradise last week it was 1000 points.

What is that email address? My husband got the card and a plate of cookies on the cruise we just got off of on July 25th, so I am wondering if he could get anything towards our next cruise next year. TIA for the info.

Last winter I sailed B2B on Miracle. The first cruise was 7 nights and the second cruise was 15 nights. The amount of points needed on each cruise (1500) remained the same for both cruises.

Can you get the drinks on us card for just playing table games? Approximately how much do you have to play?

This is the great unknown. I play craps. And I bet the same way and play the same amount every cruise. And I have gotten my card on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before. I think it depends on who is handling that at each table. My best advice is keep asking them how close you are. They may not say exactly but maybe it'll spur them to track you better.

On Carnival cruise ships you don't get a "players card" like at a regular casino. You use your cabin key, which you also use for all your on board purchases. You cash out of a machine and the winnings go into your casino "account". Go to the next machine and use money from that account by inserting your cabin card into the slot machine.

I'm NOT a "BIG" gambler and I try to immediately strike up a rapport with the pit boss. Usually on the second day he gets me a Drinks on us card. I gamble a lot but at the $5 tables. I also tip his dealers well and he notices that. The old saying that a little sugar gets more than vinegar is true in this case.

This is correct. Since you use your sail and sign card, it is individually coded to your account/cabin. If you say you "lost" it and go to Guest Services for a new one, again it will be coded, and the old one cancelled out so no one can use it- not even you. No casino cards are used, so no dups can be made. Once you take your card out of the machine, the money is downloaded to your casino bank (which you set up when you first begin to gamble.) Hope this kinda explains things!

Exactly, well said. First off let them know you are interested in the Drink card. Be friendly and tip. It really pays to get to know the pit bosses etc.

I am not a slot player and on the tables I think they have some wiggle room. Many times when I haven't been awarded a DOU card I will joke with the pit boss and say man I am thirsty how close am I to getting the card. More than once they will comp the whole table a drink. Granted you have to be a "regular" at that table and the pit workers need to know you.

Another time my wife was pre-qualified for a card. So she had a card from the get go. The pit boss pretty much comped me drinks until I qualified.

BTW we play BJ with a spread of $10.00 to $50.00.

My sister and I were in the casino about the same amount of time on the tables, but they said she was betting less than me. I got the card and she did not. I some how managed to get a few drinks to her. I gambled more than $1000 at the tables. This cruise I don't think I'll get there much.

If you play slots its 2.50 coin in per point, so you need to gamble a total of 3,750 dollars into slot machines to reach the 1500 in points... How much money you take out of your pocket to achieve that will depend on how much you win as you gamble... you could reach the points with 20.00 out of pocket if you win a bunch and then gamble with those winnings.. or you could be unlucky and not win much and you may have to lose 1,000 of your own money to hit the points...

DH and I just sailed on the Sensation and I received the free drinks perk when I reached 1000 points. The casino host came to the slot machine and gave me the card to attach to my sail and sign card lanyard. The cruise was Thurs. to Sun. and I reached the 1000 points on Friday evening. Couldn't say how much money it took to get there, though, as I was ahead at that point.

I am going on the Breeze for Thanksgiving and the last cruise I went on I would get drinks here and there from the Craps table. How far in advance should or do I need to email them to find out if there are any perks with my cruise?

Do you always hear back from them when you email the Players' Club or do you have to wait until you board to see if you are entitled to something?

I wrote to them a few weeks ago for my upcoming cruise in Sept.-I heard back in just less than 24 hours. Happy cruising!

I play very little slots (time killer) so almost exclusively table games. What the are looking for is an investment of time as much as how big your bets are. I usually spend a good amount of time there the first night (6-8) hours and then again a few hours the next afternoon, soon after they will either be offering to buy me a drink or just work up my DOU card. My average bet always starts at 15/20 but will do down to 10 or up to 50/75 if things are going well.

Also be polite to your dealers, tip once in a while and say hello to all of them. A little bit of honey goes a long way.

A lot of unknowns but I do think the pit bosses have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to all casino players, especially table players.

My last cruise (Sunshine) on about the 3rd day the Casino Manager(title may be wrong) Carlos is his first name came out and introduced himself to me. From that moment on I had free drinks, received a bounce-back, two premier offers and an ultra offer. Trust me I am no "whale" in gambling terms. I consider myself humble and nice.
