The Boatyard is our "go to place" in Barbados! We'll be there again in April, for our Journeys cruise! I love seeing the pictures!

My son turned platinum on the last day of his cruise. He had platinum on his luggage tag and all of the perks. My PVP said that's how it works.

I had my PVP handle it for me. We paid taxes, port fees, and gratuities for my two grandchildren. That's it!

My husband and I prefer Ji Ji's to the steakhouse or Cucina! There's beautifully prepared food and impeccable service. I think it is worth every penny!

The port parking is very convenient and organized. The last time we parked there, it was $20 per day.

When I search Europe 2025, there are 4 cruises listed that visit Italy and Greece. Granted, there are more beginning in London, but some are offered. The Italy/Greece cruises are all from August through October, however. We, too, are possibly planning a Med cruise for 2025.

OBC for a shareholder is dependent on the length of the cruise. If your cruise is 14 days or longer, the amount of OBC is $250.

If it is a "regular" balcony, there isn't much room for more chairs.

The only time we had this issue was on the Magic in 2022. We booked late and were assigned a balcony room over the main lounge. We were experiencing that thumping bass day and night, during practice and shows. Lesson learned! It didn't ruin our cruise, but we could've done without the "extra entertainment"!

I've been on the Sunshine many times, and I've never noticed it being dirty. It's one of my family's favorite ships in the fleet. It has the best Serenity area! Perhaps it is due for an update, since we've not been on it since a few weeks before everything shut down for Covid.

I use a washable silicone straw on all of my cruises. It was given to me years ago on a Carnival cruise.

I apply them at Guest services to cover my sail and sign card. I've tried using the kiosk, but sometimes there are glitches, so Guest services is easier.

Following!! I'm excited for your live review. We did a Carnival Med cruise 10 years ago, and had another scheduled for 2020 😔. Since that one never came to fruition, we want to try again in 2025 or 2026! We hope to find an itinerary similar to yours, with lots of ports in Greece!

The first time Diamond gift is a luggage tag and passport holder set, not the robe. Initially, they were supposed to be a leather set, so I'm disappointed that ohioNCLcruiser reports that he/she received a plastic set. Was this the Diamond gift (not Platinum)? If so...bummer! 😉 They've been "out" since we turned Diamond back in January. I got the same email, but our next cruise isn't until April, so they are supposed to mail them.

I understand your frustration, but I'd like to share our experience this past June. We had 2 two year olds in our family group, with late dining. It worked SO well! They played until exhaustion during the day, took a later-than-usual nap (4:00 or so), and did GREAT at dinnertime. They also slept really well, since their bedtime was later than they were used to at home. It was a win-win for parents and grandparents!

I'm sorry your experience was so negative. I've cruised with Carnival 33 times, on multiple ships, from many different ports (including Norfolk). I've yet to experience any of the things you describe. Thank you for the information on the parking area you used. I bookmarked it, so we can use it on our next sailing from Norfolk. Their recommended parking area is not my favorite!

One of our favorite Carnival excursions is the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Maarten. We've done this excursion twice, we liked it so much! In San Juan, we tend to do a combination of walking around town and using the local bus to go to the Forts. We always make a point to get a pina colada at Barrachina's while wandering!
