Would you spend $500 extra...

Recommended Posts

to sail on Symphony, as opposed to Allure? Same exact stateroom (OV balcony), same dates, similar ports.

Would you personally do it?

When are you finding the same dates. Symphony sails on a Saturday and Allure sails on Sundays.

It is for this reason that we paid about $500 more to sail on Symphony. Sailing on the Saturday allowed us to use 1 less day of vacation which. Ore than covered the extra cost. For others flight costs could also be a factor.

We’ve also sailed Allure twice so even without the other savings that we had o still would have paid the extra $500 as there are enough new experiences and restaurants on the Symphony to make it worthwhile for us.

I say Yes! We are paying a similar amount more to sail Harmony vs Allure the same week. We have been on Oasis a couple of times, and want to see the changes on Harmony. If you have never been on either, then I would probably save the $500. But if you have been on Allure / Oasis, then for me it is worth the extra $$$ to sail Symphony. Also, monitor for price drops.

I would agree with this. If you've never been on Oasis/Allure, save the $500 and go on Allure. But if you've already done the others, why do another repeat? In that situation, I'd definitely go Symphony.

The other way to look at it is that Symphony will be around for a long time and eventually won't be $500 more than Oasis/Allure. If someone doesn't plan to cruise much in the future maybe I'd say go for it but I have never felt the need to sail the latest ship at a premium. I've gone through it with the roll out of V/F/and now O class ships. I wait a bit for the newest. Eventually the price comes down and I make it aboard. While I'm waiting I just enjoy which ever ship I have booked.
