Top 3 things that you hate about a cruise?

1. People who try to get on the elevator before I can get out.

Packing and unpacking (although after so many cruises it is automatic)

1 - people who complain about smoking in the casino when it's allowed.

2 - sober people who like to stick their noise up in the air at people who are having fun.

3 - that one person that always shows up at the blackjack table and tells everyone else how they should be playing.

That is a good one to note....just to add, the know-it-all usually is the one losing the most $$$$ :')

But they only lost because nobody else knows how to play! :')

1) Rude and/or complaining people, especially when they are seated at brunch with you and can't wait to tell you how much better their last cruise was

2) Wastefulness

I've never understood this. Must be related to a staffing issue.

1. The long wait for the cruise date.

2. The short time on the cruise.

3. Meeting all those amazing people you will probably never see again.

1) Grumpy people. Relax!! You're on vacation. You're obviously privileged enough to be able to afford the luxury of the cruise so don't sweat the small stuff.

 

2) Chair hogs. I would see hours go by and lounge chairs being held for mysterious no show family members.

 

3) Disrespect towards the staff. We make an effort to ask questions and get to know them personally. It's amazing what you can learn from someone if you look beyond the tip of your nose.

1) The constant announcements trying to sell you something. We are on vacation... let us relax already!

2) Norovirus

1- waiting for my cruise (but I'm finally below 500 on my counter!!!)

2- Long Lines- embark, debark, MDR, comedy club

3- Line jumpers (see above!)

1. People who cut in line.

2. People who come back to their cabin late in the evening / early morning talking loud and carrying on down the cabin passageways.

3. People who insist on cramming themselves into an already packed elevator.

4. Disruptive kids who sit in the stairwells and or think it is fun to damage ship property.

5. Nickle and Diming by the cruise lines. Example- charging for room service

Not muster drill as much as people who don’t follow rules during the drill. (Its not the cruise lines fault it’s mandatory )

Although I don’t like smoke I respect those that smoke in the casino while playing NOT the ones that come in just to smoke. The casino is open to gamble in .

I am with those who cited smoking and food waste. My new adds:

1. Hot tubs are NOT hot. EVER. Plus are always filled with kids. Of course, if I was a kid, I would be hanging in the hot tub too since the water in the pool isn't heated (at least on the February Mexican cruises we have done).

2. The overly vulgar adult comedy shows. I'm not a prude, but great, talented humor around adult content doesn't require a sailor's mouth. I just don't even bother going anymore.

3. The never ready soft serve ice cream. The machine gets so much use (Really parents, no kid should be eating soft serve at 9:30 in the morning?), that the ice cream is never very firm.

4. Sorry, had to add a fourth: The idiotic placement of the ping pong tables outside. Every tried to return a serve altered by a 20mph cross wind? Game lasts 2 minutes before we give up.

5. Can't help myself now: Lack of craft beers. Stella is NOT a craft beer. And maybe one bar has a couple craft brews, but others don't. I'm not asking for Pliny the Elder on tap, just something different and better than the normal swill and available around the ship.

6. Doubling it up at six: Kids hitting golf balls on the mini-golf course like they are teeing off at the Masters.

7. Last and lucky number seven: The 12 foot high net around the recreation court. Since the sky is the literal limit, could they not put the net up 15 -20 ft? Can't shoot anything but bullets in basketball and can barely play volleyball.

8. Oh wait, almost forgot: Poorly maintained exercise equipment, especially the touch screens on the cycles, elllipticals, etc. I've given up on trying to make them work.

I don't mind the "mustard" drill (as my kids called it). If I am not mistaken, it was the lack of a mustard drill done on a ship that led to mass confusion on a recent ship accident (possibly the one that ran ashore in Italy?).

1. Slamming doors. (happens once or twice, that's understandable. happens every time, you're just lazy)

2. Neighbors who designate someone's cabin as the morning meeting spot early in the morning - and stand out in the hall talking about their plans - loudly.

3. People who leave the restroom without washing their hands.

1. People complaining loudly so everyone can hear their problems. (Be part of the solution...)

2. Line cutters (everyone is on vacation so chill...)

3. Casino smoke (perhaps the casino should be held outside :)
