What do we want on the new ship?

Bring back the movie theaters like we have on "S" Class ships, or put larger televisions in the staterooms, and NO cabanas (hate the fact that they take up such valuable viewing space). And we sure could use more dining venues, especially something for Lido, as you can't find a seat in there during lunch at sea. OH, and better merchandise in the shops!! Please don't modify the cabins too much, especially the suites, as they are the best. It's the comfortable suites that keep DH and me exclusive to HAL!!! We've tried the others, and NOT impressed!!!!

YES, YES, YES......... I forgot to mention the shops.

Please get a better source for merchandise in the stops. There is positively nothing to buy there. We'd still, even after all our cruises, buy ship specific Logo items but there are none. We wander the shops every cruise and the merchandise is boring, unattractive and unappealing..... to us.

Get someone better to do the merchandising for Shops on Board, Please. :)

I agree that the Shops on Board could be improved. Ship specific logo items, rather than the generic HAL items, would be welcomed.

Maintain the Hydro-Therapy Pool and the Thermal Suite.

Keep tub/shower combinations in most of the bathrooms and replace the shelves with an actual cabinet. Having a shelf that runs underneath the lavatory and countertop is also much appreciated.

More drawers in the staterooms.

A real movie theater like the S and R class ships.

Adequate staff so that we guests really do experience the Signature of Excellence that we expect. And, so that the crew have time to interact with us without us feeling guilty about infringing on their time/efforts.

I agree with everyone on this ... and thanks Sail for mentioning the "ship specific" logo items. DH and I just discussed that this week and came to the conclusion that by selling (:( trying to sell ) HAL items they can shift merchandise back and forth among ships and don't have the cost of paying extra printing charges for so many different (each ship) logo items. Merchandising the Ship's Shops is a position I would love to have! :D

IMO, Making Neptune large enough to include a great many more cabins takes away from it what it is meant to be.

It just becomes another stand in long line, noisy, crowded public space.

If they continue to charge the considerable difference in price for Deluxe Veranda and PS, they have to continue offering something special for all that additional money. Why would we continue to pay all those high prices if they dillute the offerings even more than they already have?

There would a point when they went too far and they will have to sell all those deluxe suites for the price of "SS'. Why would anyone pay those fancy prices if there is little special they are getting for their money?

As much as I would like the "breakfast in the Pinnacle" perk with an SS cabin, I think Sail is totally correct. Some perks have to be left for the Deluxe Suites in order to sell those at premium price points.

What would Cruise Critic members like to see on the new Pinnacle Class? The hint at more culinary and entertianment venues in the press release is interesting.

I thought the Promenade Deck on the new Carnival ships which is unobstructed by the lifeboats might be an interesting feauture. A nice wide deck to lounge on and watch the seas go by with a coffee shop and no maintenance going on with the lifeboats directly above you! (Yes they still have lifeboats but they are underneath the promenade deck!)

Please no!

The promenade deck on the new Carnival ship:

1. It's not wrap-around.

2. It has a horrible fence that ruins the whole experience.

3. It's cluttered with loungers (due to insufficient of upper deck space).

The promenade deck on the existing Vista class ships are not obstructed by the lifeboats.

Shopping! Merchandise! Not HAL logo items and jewelry only. Give us a village of shops with unique boutique items so I'm not bored and can spend lots of money on the ship! Change up the inventory DURING the sailing to keep me coming back to HAL stores throughout the sailing!

I don't disagree with your reasoning.

Not only that, this is a bigger ship so there will be more deluxe verandah suites as well I would think:rolleyes: On the larger ships (ie the N.A.) the Pinnacle Grill and Neptune can be quite full at times as it is:eek:

Ditto to the interactive tv for checking your bill, making reservations, ordering room service, ordering movies for the room. Outlets by the bed on both sides. A bigger movie theatre. Some kind of eatery bedsides room service available all the time. Someone mentioned a pub type place. Where you can get snacks like sandwiches, maybe chicken wings etc....the blue lagoon on NCL comes to mind. Or at least open when the lido is not. We often get hungry before bed because we dine early and while we use and like room service it would be nice to still be out and about maybe with a view to grab a snack after a show or movie around 9ish. And not wait for the late snack in the lido which is too late for us usually. 24 hour access to the thermal suite would also be nice as other ships offer this. Weather permitting would like the pools to be open in the evening for a swim. Oh and a request from DH.....explorations coffee shop open at 6am instead of 7. He has to deal with the "other coffee" for hours as he is early riser. Please keep the promenade as is. One of my favorite things about HAL. :)

Must have HAL's Promenade Deck or I don't go. I would prefer cabin's on that deck (as in R & S class ships) - :( but I don't see that happening.

Crow's Nest with that wonderful wraparound window seating - with the seating facing the windows! I hate sitting there looking backwards to see where we are going. And please get rid of those ridiculous recliners.

More seating in the Lido and better designed service lines there.

] to invest in more servers in the MDR, so they can go back to providing the HAL service we experienced on our first three cruises - instead of the servers looking like they are 30 seconds from having a breakdown due to overload of tables.

All that said – I'm not sure we would book this ship due to size.

They had SERVICE in the MDR years ago? Sounds like other cruise lines we've traveled!

Size of ship; Yes, too big for us!:(

I know the lifeboats don't obstruct the deck but maintance to them can close the deck. Having had a second shower from the sailors washing the boats down with no warning or consideration I like the idea of having them slung underneath the Promenade Deck. OK, how about making it a HAL full wrap-around deck? Of course enough open deck space to accomodate the guests comfortably (I've noticed the shrinking about of open deck space on some new ships)

Interactive TV's for checking your account and making reservations etc, etc

Yes, so agree with that "want". The amount of paper and ink saved would be significant. Also how about the new photo options being available via digital kiosk? Only what is ordered would be processed. Surely that digital photo technology would be less than processing and maintaining the walls of photos. Also the large Photo sections devoted to photos could be made over for additional revenue generators such as a intimate dining or bar venue/locale.

I would like the Neptune Lounge to have an external view. It's own private veranda space (Would help out with space when there are suite parties in the NL.) or just windows.

Would be nice but we know that would take space from what could be "SA" cabin which brings in much revenue week after week, month after month........
