Before the epic I sailed on whoever,now I'm hooked on ncl.

The Sky in 2011.....and we thought she was HUGE......till we saw her docked in Nassau inbetween the Carnival Dream and the Oasis of the Seas.......then I saw what *huge* was!! :)

Crown to Bermuda in 2007. Thought it was large then until I sailed the Dawn a few years later. Going on the BA next month and will see how that compares to the other :D

We sailed on the Norway in August 1993 on our first NCL cruise. Since then we have sailed on NCL 26 times on various other ships.

 

Next NCL trip is 11/15 on the Gem. Seems we like NCL. :)

Same for us ... a special 7 night New Year's Cruise.

We had our two girls with us in a tiny cabin with an extremely small porthole view.

Didn't matter! We had a great time and it will always be one of our fond memories. :D

After 20 cruises, we took an NCL cruise on the Jade in 2010 out of Barcelona. It was memorable from the suite to the itinerary to the staff.

We have not done another line since then with 5 cruises on NCL.

We were on the Dreanward -- she as here in New York - in 1997 - then they took her away to be stretched and became The Dream -- never to return - I think

Southward - 1993

 

I just went to the cabin photos forum and saw a photo of Starward. Southward is a similar ship and I couldn't believe how tiny it is compared to todays ships. When I was on Southward, I thought it was big. Little did I know what was ahead in ship building for cruise lines.

 

Our first NCL ship was the Jade in 2010. It was our honeymoon and it hooked us on cruising!

NCL Gem in 2010.

 

Since then, we've sailed on the Gem 2 more times and have a fourth trip booked for September. :)

Ours was the Norwegian Jewel in 2010.

The Norway. 1996. I can still remember waking up in our hotel suite in Miami and opening the curtains to see her. And she was beautiful. Everything you imagine an oceanliner to be. It was still the days of formal dinners and afternoon tea. I can remember how hot the teak decks would get. You had to wear sandals or flipflops or you'd burn the soles of your feet. I loved that my two teenage daughters had to "dress" for dinner and I loved it even more that they thought it was great! Waiters wearing white gloves; "cheese course", "fish course". They learned a lot of etiquette on that trip and it served them well. It breaks my heart to think of what became of her.
