What is your interest in booking Harmony?

Talk about booking way way far out. Never have we done this but the price, just couldn't resist. Talk about January 2017. One question though, when our TA asked dining preference I told her any time. It is showing up on the reservation as dynamic dining. As with any time do you have to pre-pay your tips with dynamic. Also, does dynamic replace any time?

We choose a balcony cabin near the end of Boardwalk that should give us a view from our balcony of the Aqua Theater....and the ocean behind it.

 

Paulette, what balcony did you choose? How is the oceanview from there? I cannot believe these prices have not gone up yet! And now I am realizing that we can save $832 on our B2B by switching from our hump oceanview balcony on 8 to a Boardwalk balcony. Wondering if it is worth it if we cannot snag one of the very last Boardwalk balconies...would there really be an oceanview? We thought we got a really great price and thought we could never afford an oceanview balcony, but now I am getting cheap, realizing we could save even more by moving! Coming from a Mom still paying 2 college tuitions!

This was our choice as well! We love My Time dining which is Dynamic Dining CHOICE (vs. Classic) on Oasis class. You do not prepay tips with Dynamic Dining. Rumor is you may not have to prepay for My Time on the other ships anymore either. I have not heard if that rumor is confirmed yet or not.

We are really excited to try DD! There are some restaurants we may go to just once but others multiple times. Beef Wellington? Yum! Sign me up!

Always wanted to see what the "fuss" is about the Oasis class. The 3 day next November was price perfect for an Oasis class "try-out". Booked a port aft OV balcony D4. Looking VERY forward to the Oasis class only unique offerings!

College tuitions are first and foremost....and I certainly can understand that!

 

We are in 11329, which is the very last balcony cabin (not an Aft balcony). We should have a good view of the Aqua Theater and be able to see the ocean from our balcony. When we sailed on Allure we had a CP balcony, which we enjoyed, but I missed seeing the ocean. That is why we chose this cabin.

 

I know you are doing Dynamic Dining on HOTS.....do you do any of the specialty restaurants? We typically only do Izumi for one evening, not the others. We love Japanese food and go out to eat it at home...so we do it once on the ship as well.

Oh Wow! Thanks for the pics. That gives me a good idea of the views. You can actually see the ocean! I will have to see if there are any Boardwalk balconies that are at the back of the ship available for both weeks. We did not want to move the second week but now I am thinking that may be a good compromise. Have to think on that one!

 

Paulette, thanks for the info! We originally booked 12329 (and then canceled on a different Allure sailing) when they took away the secret balcony and made it into a mini suite. That looks like a perfect location. We sometimes do Specialty Dining but have not made a decision for this cruise. Chances are we will not since all the restaurants will be new to us.

 

Update: the closest we can get to the back of the ship is 3 balconies in..and we would only save a total of $600, not $800. I think we will stay where we are. My DH thinks I am nuts to give up a perfect cabin for a two week vacation for $600! Maybe I am! :-)

Thanks for the photos.....it does give me the sense of what I do expect from the cabin we have chosen. I have no intention to watch the Aqua Show from my balcony -- I would prefer to see it from a much closer vantage point. But to see ocean is important to me....and that is what I will be able to enjoy a little more.

We always wanted to try an Oasis class ship. [largest for us so far is the Explorer of the Seas]. However, they were always pricey and excluded form most sales. So, after we saw the price of the Harmony TA I talked DH into booking. :D

I have no interest at all....never sailed on anything larger than a Freedom Class ship, and don't care for the "Resort" direction rather than being on a cruise.

HOWEVER.....Considering the home port, we probably will....

I'm with you, Bill...assumed Harmony would be way of my league as far as pricing and particularly because we already have a B2B on brilliance booked for next year, an "expensive" cruise wouldn't have been in the budget! Was I pleasantly surprised! We're booked for November 2016 👍👍

Well folks... I too wish to thank everyone on this forum. Harmony wasn't even on my radar whatsoever until I saw the couple threads re pricing earlier in the week. I was planning something else around this time frame but I too just couldn't resist this opportunity. So thank you very very much to all of you who contributed to this thread. I am now an extremely happy cruiser in one of the very farthest aft B1's b2b :D:D:D:D

 

p.s. incredibly aft 11729 & 11329 are still avail on the Jan 7/17 sailing, and only 11329 avail on the Jan 14/17 is anyone wants to sail right above my cabin :p

-I know the deals are so amazing you like just have to do it. Wonder why? Usually a new ship is extremely high. An example of that is NCL's Escape. We are on the Thanksgiving sailing and that's because we got a very good casino rate.

We have booked #9729,27,25 & 23 for our March family cruise..had a choice of the portside 93's too...hope I chose the right side...any opinions on that ?

Did you guys only put down half of the deposit too? I booked a cruise on Harmony of the seas for my brother and they only asked for half of the deposit. I'm just curious what other people are experiencing with deposits because I haven't seen or heard any mention about this. Thanks

I booked Wednesday too. Oh well...that's less that I owe at final....not only that but HOS prices just went up and I saved $490.00 per cabin x four cabins...so I'm feeling pretty good today :D

I called C&A and they said that they would transfer me to the vacation planner department. When I asked about the half deposit on my brother's reservation, the lady who was helping me said that they did not advertise the promotion with the 30-30 sale, but they will only do that for certain people :confused:She then told me not to worry. I can't understand the way RCI is running their business these days!
