Why do they call everytime you look at site?

Recommended Posts

I've been cruising, check out my sig, I've been called less than 5 times. I sign on to Carnival several times a week, looking around, mock booking in some cases, and I have not been called.

I wouldn't mind a call with an offer I couldn't refuse.:D

Even though it's been a few years since we last cruised on CCL, I'm always looking for a good deal. I used to have a problem with someone calling me within a few minutes every time I logged out.

So now I don't log in if I just want to research the itineraries, prices, etc.

I get calls from Carnival and Princess after I have been on either site. Carnival was so persistent that I finally said if they call me again I will cancel any cruise I have booked with them, that stopped the calls. Princess rep was actually very nice, he asked if he could check in periodically.

This happened about four times on my land line until I had to tell them in no uncertain terms to NEVER call me. The calls stopped........................until I started receiving them on my cell number. The only place I have ever entered that number was in my reservation. They called once and I firmly said do not call. Then I received two more calls and called them back and was not an understanding customer.

It's sad that you have to get to that stage to make it stop.

I believe new PVP's come on and try to make sales. I don't know if they are on commission or an incentive system but they can be very annoying.

I take no unsolicited sales calls from any business. So it isn't just Carnival that I have had to politely and then not so politely say NO to.

Take care,

Mike

Used to get called but this year nothing. I almost wonder if it has anything to do with working off a casino promotion.

Doesn't matter now, I've crossed over to a TA and found the $$$ to be much better.

it is possible something in you profile , awhile back when I was inquiring on booking a group cruise I clicked " yes I would like to be contacted " ( can't really remember exactly what it said ) but mins. after i logged out I got a call , the guy called me back every Tuesday for like 2 months till i told him we had decided not to book ...

Might want to check if you have it set in your profile somewhere , it's a automatic call back , or just never log off .. lol

I get on their website 5 or 6 times a day - every day. I always log on and shop around for cruises or check my account for other things. Not once did they ever call me.

This is true for me also. I check on my cruises, look for new ones, find things for friends - never once had a call - I now have a PVP, but that was not true for my first couple of years - no calls ever.

I gotta say some of you need to learn to be a bit nicer. I have been in outbound sales before, and its not easy to do what they do. If I am not interested I will tell them its just not time and was just looking. It hurts these people when you book elsewhere so of course they are going to call.

Show them respect when they call and they will do the same. I have had the same pvp for 6 years, he knows when I log in and unless their is a huge gap in time, knows I will call him. Its mutual respect for knowing they do get a commission. I can understand some not knowing, but hopefully you will not reject their calls any longer and respect them for their hard work.

Same here, I never have gotten a call, only get emails after I've booked a cruise, yet my friends and family members get them all the time. I've called Tech Support about it, they've sent test emails, rechecked my profile, etc., yet I still don't get anything of a promotional nature, nor do I receive phone calls. Would be nice to get something once in a while, even snail mail.

I don't get callbacks from Carnival but I do get them from Norwegian all the time. I just ignore the lady that constantly calls me every time I go to look at the site. I keep telling her that I am just looking and when I need help I will call in but she still calls and leaves a message.

I am constantly looking at Carnival for deals and just window shopping. I never get a call. But I recently (6 months ago) started getting curious about Norwegian Cruise Lines because they keep sending me emails about cruises with drink packages included. So, I went to their page to price some cruises and check out some ships. I have been getting a call from some guy ever since. "Hello Robyn, I see that you are interesting in cruising with NCL..." (voicemails)

Sometimes it is hard to be nice when you have told them repeatedly not to call you and they still do it. Respect works both ways.
