Interesting OBC offer from RC - OBC Fairy.

Recommended Posts

We are leaving on the Allure the day after you on October 1st in room 1720...haven't been contacted about the OBC yet...(prob won't happen)

Food porn was amazing...will have to make the brisket, mac 'n cheese sandwich next time I smoke a brisket!

Me too, but I am thinking it is the Star Class cabins that they are looking for.

My travel agent called me last week regarding an offer of $300 OBC to prepay our Oasis cruise. This was for a Grand Suite,

sailing date is January 20, 2019. Of the 14 available 1 bedroom Grand Suite cabins, only 3 show as being book including ours. We declined the offer.

I then had the travel agent call and see if this offer could be applied to our October 22, 2017 sailing. They then approved my request and gave us $300 OBC for prepaying this cruise. We are sailing in a Crown Loft.

I called RC yesterday to inquire about this same topic. We have a balcony booked on the Allure coming up in October and we have not paid the cruise off yet. I called to see if they would be willing to give us any OBC for paying off early but they stated it was only for select cruises and JS and up. Guess I will be waiting till the last day to pay it off... Would have been happy with $100 obc to pay it off on the spot.

I do understand though that they are doing this to solidify the reservations on the suites that dont have as much quantity and are worth more money.

No offers on my Oct 29 JS yet. Nor the two following. Nov 5 & 12

Our TA called me this past Thursday. I was at the drag strip in Indianapolis for the Hot Rod Power Tour when my phone rang so I let it go to voice mail. 10 minutes later my wife Lisa called me and obviously that one I answered. ;)

Lisa said that RC is offering us $500 OBC. We would need to pay in full, approximately 3 weeks in advance of our final payment date for our September 30th Harmony Cruise. We are sailing in a Star Class cabin, SLS 1724.

They informed our TA that they are in high demand and they are looking firm up who will be following through and who will be turning them in before final payment. I said to Lisa pay in full and take the OBC. They really must want one and who ever is needing it will pay a steep premium.

As for Indy, it was hot and the races were good. Oh and the food porn was spectacular. I might post a few pics.

We got an email offer that included our Sky Class for our Sept. 16 Harmony. I think the OBC listed was $250 for Sea, $500 for Sky, and $1000 for Star but we'd have to rebook at the current pricing which would have cost me $500 more in the end.

Thanks for the report, I've read several reports of this, but yours was the most specific.

PS, did you note the number the call came from? (going back to read the whole thread)

There's another about this issue - the offer seems to be random.

That is what I have thought about these reports, but A&L gives some good specifics. I have one reservation that is within 3 weeks for final payment, but its a low dollar inside on a shorter cruise. I called C&A for other reasons, hoping to get a early payoff offer, but that didn't happen.

Yes, USD John. Interesting that they are offering them for JS as well. We are in a SLS so that might be there $200 increase from a CLS.

Seems like sea class is $100 obc, sky class is $300 obc and star class is $500 obc for paying early.

First post of getting obc offer on harmony. We got offer on oasis for oct 2017.

Champaign and Collinsville, I'll bet you drove right past us! Wish I would have known, we could have met for lunch.:)

That would have been great. You might have had to eaten BBQ or a Chicago style hot dog.

Wow does this ever seem to be random ! We are in a Star Class on Harmony on Sept 16 (2 BR ATS) and did not get any such offer.

Wish I could discern any kind of pattern here, but I cannot !

I usually quickly scroll through food porn pics, but yours were particularly enticing. I don't even eat red meat that much...more of a chicken or seafood guy. Maybe it was the new to the menu grilled cheese with brisket that I had at my local tavern recently (sadly, no mac n cheese, but 2 different types of cheese) that caused me to slowly peruse your pictures. I'm hungry.

Here are a couple more just for you them. They aren't as exciting but...

Both from the Rib Eye in Champaign. The folks that ate them said they were good. I can attest to the shrimp, as one made its way to my plate. [emoji6]

Chicken and rice.

I kind of wonder if RC is trying to generate extra revenue for a construction draw payment on Symphony?[emoji23] Actually I wonder if only cabins that had great pricing are getting this offer. If you cancel then they can increase the cabin cost to what the market will pay.

My God man. Not judgmental but wish i was young enough and my cholesterol was low enough to eat those meals again. For me they are a heart attack waiting to happen. Enjoy.

I should have stopped but somehow I came home weighing less.

Andrew, you hinted at this road trip of yours and mentioned you may do a review of it, I forgot all about it. I won't now, hubby and I are both car lovers as well and this looked like it was an awesome experience (except the accident). I don't belong to Facebook nor want to so I can't see it from that way. If you could post some of the pictures of some other cars etc on here I would be very thankful.

I believe we would love the experience and may look up next years- sold the cars so would have to get one Minor detail huh -not! Would corvettes be okay on the tour. I don't really consider the newer ones Hot Rods but I am a female, what do I know Seeing as you ended in Bowling Green, did you get to the Corvette Museum?

Thanks!

P.S Beautiful Car

I don't think Big G's offer was to pay early for OBC. He's saying he'd have to rebook to get OBC with the booking.
