Ocean Medallion Holder Survey

Sorry but hubby and I are both elite and got survey.

 

 

Just checked my own email again... Princess just sent me an email about Asia cruises but not the Medallion Survey.... I will still wait to see if I get it ..... if not then looks like they are targeting newbies for their thoughts on the costs of buying these "fun" (kidding) extra's.......

I did the survey and said zero would be too much. To pay to carry around a fob - give me back my free room key

 

Hahah that's awesome!!!! I think there must be 2 different survey versions.

Cause my spouse had 3 boxes and he could put what was the max he would pay, the minimum he would pay and then the cost that would "make him have to seriously consider buying it" :confused:

I haven't seen the survey, but I'm not enthusiastic about wearing the medallion. I'm hoping it's something I can just keep in a pocket like I currently do with my cruise card.

 

We plan on opting out. Firm believer in If it Ain't Broke, Down Break it.

I was under the impression it came with a wristband, but if not, I will purchase one. I don't carry a purse on the ship so would prefer to wear the medallion on my wrist rather than in my pocket. I'd pay $20-25.

I too thought I read that Princess is providing at least one "holder" of some sort free. BUT, they will offer others for purchase.

To those saying they won't buy any... fair enough. But, I have to believe that someone that anticipates more returns may purchase the accessory... whether for comfort or "fashion."

Does anyone know if the Medallion is optional? Can we just get a card instead?

My husband and I are Platinum members and we are on the first 3 Ocean Medallion cruises on the Regal starting Nov 13th and we haven't receive the survey email. For that matter, we have yet to receive any communication from Princess regarding our upcoming Ocean Medallion cruises. We assume we will get our Medallion packet a few weeks prior to sailing.

We also just received this survey, with the $25 prices. If they are going to this medallion, then a holder should be provided. I was so angry ,and glad a thread was started.

 

Maybe they can just microchip us, so we can wave our hands!!!!!

 

I do think I read earlier that you can get a card. I was wondering what one would use in the casino.

 

Also wondered what color it was; is it color coordinated with your cruise history status. Lots of cruisers worked a long time to hang that black card around their neck (us also)

Disney sells their magic bands for $12.99 to $48 depending on the design... so $20-$25 isn't out of line with the marketplace.

however Disney provides one free when staying onsite... you only have to buy it if you stay offsite.

I received the email survey. Not elite, did one 10 day cruise withP and have another booked for next year.

 

Survey asked if I found sport, watch or lanyard "attractive" (I didn't) and if I would pay $15 for it. Said not interested in paying for it.

 

Then there was a comment box where I wrote that I didn't want to use it and if they forced me to, I would likely cruise less with them. And that I preferred a key card and didn't like that they were trying to force me to buy a technology that I don't need or want.

 

But that's just me :D

Get this, my wife received the medallion survey this afternoon. In her survey Princess wanted to know from a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being no and 10 being yes and anything in between leaning either way. The question was, would you pay up to $100.00 for a gold or silver color bracelet or necklace. She answered no as a purse or pocket is good enough for us!!! Princess must think they can make extra money off medallion merchandise.

I don't really care about the color of the case & would gladly trade my black elite case for a bright color such as neon green to hopefully locate it more easily. ;p
