They also add a Wake view pool on Lido Deck and 1 more deck than the Royal/Regal/Majestic; on that deck there are 2 HUGE! Suites, No more Crooners

What has happened to the Retreat Pool on Deck 17? It's got cabins all around it! Is it covered in?

Or do you look down into it from Deck 18 which now has the Sanctuary, open deck, hot tubs and two Suites!

I don´t think its covered, there are stairs from the deck above, maybe it was the way to fix the wind problem of the Royal/Regal on the Retreat pool.

Princess inventory control has made cabins we wanted to book unavailable on the 7 day cruise (11/3/19) but were available on the 21 day or the 28 day. In a conference call with my TA & Princess agent, their agent apologized for this situation which was out of her control. So much for their new Elite level perk they're touting because inventory control prevents booking certain blocks of cabins. :(

Now that I'm booked, I can view deck plans and here are some of the public area changes I've noticed from the Royal/Regal.

  • Deck 6: Art Gallery area is now an expanded Shops of Princess area
  • Deck 6: Casino staircase to deck 7 removed
  • Deck 6: CC & Future Cruise spaces replace Alfredo's
  • Deck 7: Crooners replaced by the French Bistro (La Mer) like on the Majestic
  • Deck 7: Alfredo's Pizzeria moved from deck 6 replacing shops/CC/Future Cruise areas
  • Deck 7: Wheelhouse Bar renamed Crown Grill Bar
  • Deck 7: Fine Arts Gallery moved from deck 6 adjacent to a smaller Photo & Video Gallery on deck 7
  • Deck 16: Horizon Court/Bistro renamed World Fresh Market Place
  • Deck 16: Not labeled yet but based on Princess website, Prego Pizzeria & Trident Grill replaced by Slice & Salty Dog Grill
  • Deck 16: shows 2 larger pools instead of the Fountain Pool & smaller Plunge Pool

I'm aware that first versions of other new ships had errors in deck plans, however this is based on what's currently displayed. I haven't compared cabins but they appear to be similar to the Majestic with some Emerald deck aft larger minisuite cabins.

Skimming through the deck plans, I didn't see any OS type of cabins despite if being displayed on their fare chart & cabin descriptions for the Sky. On the fare chart they are less than $100 less than a balcony cabin so don't know which to believe...deck plans or their website description & fare chart.

The Oceanview Cabins are on Sun deck, at the very front

That small pool was added on the Regal but has been moved from deck 17(Terrace Pool) to deck 16 (WakeView Pool)...wonder how that will affect the seating at the Horizon Terrace.

I don't see an additional deck and still has decks 4-19...guess I'll have to check further.

Thanks...we have our 28 day reservation & will check back later to see what else I overlooked. ;)

I had selected several interior cabins we preferred & thought they would be easy to reserve with the new Elite benefit & immediately calling at 0800. Instead by Princess blocking those types of cabins it took a long time to decide on alternative cabins. It wasn't that individual cabins were already booked but that whole sections of cabin categories were unavailable to book as B2B and even some as a single 28 day cruise...very disappointing!

Same number of decks. The confusion is they've renamed the top two decks. Sky has Vista (19) and Sky (18) while the Royal has Sky (19) and Sports (18).

No Library at all - it's usually Deck 7 Aft. Just an Internet Cafe outside the Dining Room on Deck 5. They combined the two on the Majestic but it was in the old Deck 7 space which is empty now.

Same number of decks but the Sanctuary was moved from Sun (17) to Sports (18) in an area that didn’t exist on earlier Royal class ships.

If there is a French Bistro on the Promenade deck on the other side of Alfredo’s there really isn’t a good traffic flow for people [emoji848] Those two venues are adjacent to portions of the Promenade deck outside so perhaps there will be indoor/outdoor dining options?

;p

Call me skeptical, but the addition of cabins surrounding the Retreat Pool smells of exclusive use of that pool by people booking those cabins. NCL and MSC already have something similar....just sayin.
I hear you, but if that were the case the adjacent cabins would be higher than category BC and BF.

Does anyone know if the new Sky Princess will be like the Royal and Ruby or will she resemble the Majestic Princess? I noticed that the Emerald Deck is different on the Majestic in that it has mini suites on that deck whereas the Royal/Ruby don't. I'm thinking of booking on the new ship but would like to know which layout she will have.

Its the same as Majestic Princess

Wow deck plans. I am happy that the Sky is not identical to the Royal. I was shocked to see outside cabins...I would have booked one if I knew this morning.

I like the redesign of the pool deck, having two larger pools is a great change. The sea view bar position will be better for walk up traffic in my opinion. As far as crooners, I think it's actually onboard but smaller. Look at the area port side adjacent to belinis...there appears to be he outline of a bar and a lot of unlabeled floor space.

As far as the French Bistro....vice l'mer, makes me think of Le Bistro on NCL which is highly successful.

I like the ship overall.....

Making a reservation.....proved to be troublesome for my TA. I requested L101, an obstructed balcony up forward. It seems Princess didn't want to book it for a single passenger because it sleeps more than 2 passengers. But my excellent TA worked her magic and I got the cabin.

Now to wonder what the weather will be in late October.....if cold it means numerous lemon drop martinis

Maybe, but don't think so, cabin category are cheaper, also you could access from the upper floor, and the Sanctuary would not have access to anyone, except the "exclusive area", there is no elevator directly to the Sanctuary.

Looking at deck 18, Sky Deck, there are two giant suites called Top Deck Suites - there is no room plan available but it says they are 1507 square feet. Yikes - cant wait to get a look at one of those. Doubt I will ever get a chance to stay in one - but you never know,

I booked one of the Aft cabins for the Spain/TA cruise in 11/19 but my wife said Mini or bust! So re-booked one of the Angled Balcony Minis for just a few hundred more. Whatever makes her happy as long as I get to go on my first TA, :D
