Cost of extras on Epic

Does anyone know where I can find the cost of extras on the Epic. Things such as Bowling, Cirque Dreams (we have the specialty dining promo), escape room, and anything else I may have forgotten.

Bowling is 5.00 pp per game. Cirque depends on what type of seating you want. You can do a mock reservation for it to see the prices. Deal or no deal tickets 25.00each painting class $35.00 per person. Photos 10 for 139.00 the list can go on and on......

Not sure what the relevance of this comment is. I believe that you are asserting that in order to have a "good cruise" you need to spend a lot of money on board. We have done many cruises with a 1/2 page bill on the last night with just the daily service charge. There is really no reason to spend a lot of money on extras.

#1 If you truly think that the over run by kids, luke warm, outdoor hot tubs near the pool compare in any way to those in the spa - you are sorely mistaken,

 

#2 You may claim there is no reason for you personally and that is great, but that does not mean others do not mind spending money while on vacation for things they enjoy, a nice steak dinner, bingo, a cirque show, massage etc.

Exactly. What works for you works for you.

 

People complain about the nickel and diming on NCL but it works for me. I like paying for the things I want and not paying for the ones I don't. What works for one person doesn't work for another and vice versa.

Actually you made the comments regarding the free things when onboard and the op was asking about prices of extra charges. I just came off the epic a few days ago and my folio was less than $100. I’m leaving on the jade tomorrow and I don’t expect to spend much more than that for the 10 day cruise. My point was you can find a mirage of extra charges if that is what you were looking for and what the op was asking for. Op did not ask what was free which is how you responded and I responded to your premise no reason to spend extra money....no reason to go on a cruise either EXCEPT that is what we all choose to do.

OP- This is an excellent question to ask! If one doesn't know the cost of activities how does one budget? I've been on 10 NCL cruises and we always try to plan in advance what the additional costs will be, from buying water at the airport, to tipping the porter at the port to tipping the room steward for the extra work they may need to do if we bring our messy college aged son along with us. This helps us plan for the cash we will need to take and the denomination amounts.

 

Of course one can cruise without any additional expense (the DSC can be prepaid) but that was not what the OP asked about. I'd like to kow the costs as well since I am thinking of sneaking in a cruise on the Epic in March and I've never cruised on her.

Was just on the Epic Dec. 2-9. Bowling was $7 per person per game.

 

However, I wouldn’t recommend it if you throw a hook. They don’t oil the lanes! My first throw was in the gutter less than halfway down the lane.

Thanks for the info. We are on Epic this summer and my husband is an avid bowler. This is something we plan to do for fun.

There was apparently a lot going on on that ship that we did not see. Granted, we spent a lot of time out of our room in the thermal spa. For us the ship is a moving hotel, upcoming will be the first time we have a cruise with a lot of sea days. So will be interesting to see how we manage to spend our time.

Perfect...This is exactly what I would have wanted to know if I was the OP. How much for the painting class and how much for photo packages, specifically on a shorter cruise as I am on a 4 day Epic cruise in 3 weeks.

I paid for a lot of extras before we went on the epic 20/01-27/01. I bought a 3 meal dining package for £56pp. I could use this towards cirque - using this brought the additional charge for cirque down to £12ish and I would say this show is worth every penny if you think about how expensive to see Cirque on land where this is such intimate access, I highly recommend it. The other two places I dined were Cagneys and Tepenyakki, the latter was amazing, wasn't fussed for Cagneys.

 

A thermal spa pass cost me £150 and it was also worth every penny, there is a wide range of jets with different pressures in the thalassotherapy pool some of them were as good as a massage. I used it daily to detoxify from my shenanigans the night before. Pool, sauna, pool, steam room, pool, heated loungers while having access to fruit infused water and herbal teas in a chilled area. As there was limited access you can almost always use whatever option suited your needs. I was not hungover once:)

 

I paid $25 for one picture, I was not interested in photo packages but this was the only picture of everyone in our group together.

 

It was $7 to bowl.

 

I also added onboard credit to my account, this meant I left the ship with virtually no bill.

 

The things I paid for upfront were well worth the money:)

That's how I think about it. I am disinclined to pay for most extras, but for those that I might be interested in, I prefer to know the costs so that I can think about which to choose and plan accordingly. For my upcoming booking, I made reservations for two specialty restaurants but might adjust that number up or down (did not purchase a specialty dining package since I'm not sure what I really want). I did not elect the drinks package, because although I am not a total abstainer by any means, it didn't seem like a good value for me.

Hi there,

I just got off the Epic on Saturday, and I'm already wanting to go on another cruise! LOL! To answer your question, I have listed some of the prices of activities that we did or saw while on the Epic!

Bowling - $7 per person per game

Cirque Epicurean - approx. $35 for regular seating which fills fast, my wife and I did the upgraded seating. I think its about $10 more.

Escape the Big Top (escape room) - Complimentary

Bingo - 3 tiered packages. $39 for 3 cards. $49 for 6 cards, and I can't remember the price for 9 cards (sorry)

Deal or No Deal - $25 per card. You can win prizes from the cards directly, and 2 cards are chosen at random to play DOND.

Slot Tournament - $20 per entry (You may rebuy if you don't qualify)

Blackjack Tournament - $20 per entry (May rebuy)

Ice Bar - $20 per person (includes 2 drinks)

Wifi - They have the time packages that are already listed on their website, but for wifi for the entire 7 days is about 200, but they also have a social media package which is about 100. My wife and I both got the social media package. Facebook, snapchat, facebook messenger all work with it.

NOTE: I would really recommend NOT playing Bingo, DOND, or any of the tournaments.

For the slot and blackjack tournament, they have qualifying rounds every day of the cruise, and they will continue to host rounds as long as people are buying in. Even if you win your round, there is a VERY high chance you will NOT move on. The top 6 ending totals from all qualifying rounds are the only ones who will play in the finals. Also, it is a very small prize of $500 to a single winner. I've seen smaller tournaments give away prizes of over $5000 distributed among the final table. If you want to play for the experience, I would recommend only playing once.

We only ate at the complimentary restaurants, but I know the Brazilian steakhouse is about $25, and the teppanyaki place is about $30. I do believe the other ones are a la carte pricing.

If you have any other questions about specific things, I will do my best to remember. :)

Edit: Also, my wife and I both got a massage and facial. It was called the Head to Toe special. It is not listed on their website. It was a special in the Freestyle Daily. Once it appeared, it was available for the rest of the cruise. It was $149 for 75 minutes. They will also add 18% for gratuity automatically.
