Carnival, please change the Platinum/Diamond treat from the strawberries!

Moldy strawberries tell me they are giving a gift without paying any attention to it.

Grandkids not old enough to give me ties but they will be wearable. Moldy berries are fit to be tossed away

So wish there was a like button here!:D

In regards to the strawberries, this is what we used to get.......

Carnival%20Pride%20Christmas_0212-X2.jpg

And what we are getting now. I always joke in my reviews that we are now getting the rejects from the café, but we eat most of them anyway and we appreciate them, but they could do a little better.....

Exactly! they set the bar high and then decided we didn't deserve that quality of product anymore.

Yes quite difference.

A drink of choice would be fine and not one that can only be used at breakfast/brunch.

Huh.

I'm not Platinum, but I've taken the Behind the Fun tour seven times and they always deliver a "courtesy" plate of strawberries to the cabin in the evening after the tour. Really cool.

EVERY time except once they have looked like this photo....(thanks Jamman54)....

Carnival%20Pride%20Christmas_0212-X2.jpg

--Yep, "dressed" in tuxedos, that awesome hand-detailed white and dark chocolate and sometimes they've been wearing "sombreros" (round wafers) tilted rakishly on their heads. :D :halo:

....And the strawberries have looked and tasted really good. No mold....and if there had been, I'd have taken a photo and probably posted it here.

The ONE exception was on the Liberty after its BtF Tour, where the strawberries looked like this......

IMG_4774-X2.jpg

....only worse. They'd just had some chocolate randomly slathered on them.

The dining service on Liberty for that sailing was THE worst I've had in 13 cruises, though. It just seemed like they didn't care. Early-seating desserts brought to us......at 7:58 pm. :o

Don't like those strawberries. Please have a cheese plate as an option. I did this on one trip and got a beautiful tray of cheese, crackers, and some fruit. Much better.

I totally agree with you. I hate to see food go to waste, but my plate of chocolate dipped strawberries always goes to waste. Ditto for the "chocolate delight" plate. I never eat either one. The cheese plate would be great!

Jamman54's post hits the strawberry squarely. These pics show what we are really talking about, the quality of the product Carnival has opted to provide to its customers.

It is not that we need more food or we are ungrateful, its all about customer service that once existed in our country and now has gone by the wayside.

Bingo

After 32 Carnival cruises, I also would prefer something besides the chocolate covered strawberries. A cheese plate would be nice. Sometimes the strawberries look a bit past their prime. We also often receive the strawberries from the Casino, so we end up with two plates of them. DH likes them, but I only eat maybe one.

I believe Carnival does offer an option to those who don't like the strawberries. Don't eat them

It doesn't matter what Carnival does, some will complain. Some complain about a lack of customer service, but it is more than offset by an increase in an entitled attitude in society.

Offer to the cabin steward, we always do and he happily accepts it.

If cheese plate was offered I'm sure people would still complain. Not enough selection, cheese dried out, too little, too much, cut too big, cut too small, should have been sliced, should have been cubes, yada yada yada. Some people just like to complain and never appreciate what they already have or get.

Dear Carnival,

If you appreciate my continued business and want to show gratitude by giving me a small token of appreciation, thank you. I promise not to whine about whatever gift this may be.

Dear Carnival,

What is with this smelly, moldy, dried out cheese? I am lactose intolerant, and I really liked those strawberries (thank goodness you don't use real milk chocolate!).

And dry crackers? I'd want some fine bread like sliced french baguette or multi-grain rolls instead, thankyouverymuch.

(I am kidding, of course. And honestly don't know what kind of chocolate is used on the strawberries.)

I guess I understand that the strawberries can be underwhelming at times (especially looking at some pics of what they used to look like), but I'm truly not sure a cheese plate would make any more people happy, on average.

I wonder if the people responding to the poll have actually had the strawberries or just think they would like them better. They are a lot different now than the ones in the past.

Yep and I picked the strawberries. I prefer them to the stuff Celebrity gives you for being in a Concierge Class Cabin.

Dear Carnival,

I would like you to leave me a plate of uncured pork fat, and some rice-a-roni. Please don't cook the rice-a-roni, though. I'll prepare it myself using hot water from the coffee maker.

In addition to this, I would also appreciate it if you would leave me a free Cheers! for my wife and I, as well as a Marshmallow pillow, shower dispensers filled with chicken gravy, and also replace the curtains with proscuitto. If you don't I will never sail Carnival again.
