What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

Hi All,

Has anyone noticed that categories normally show as "sold out" but when they get in to normal upgrade time, certain categories start showing as "not available." Thoughts? are those potentially being processed through upgrades? A day or two later they will also show as "sold out."

Seems reasonable, but I'm just curious if people have also noticed.

Booked on Getaway on 3/10 in mini-suite.  Bid on H5 Courtyard Haven and H9 Spa suite for $600 and $500 respectively offers.

Checked on occupancy and both categories are 90% EMPTY so far. I know that it is 8 weeks until sailing but both bids are in the upper level of POOR or lower level of FAIR offers. Might decide to increase the bids if more cabins get occupied.

Hi.  How do you check the occupancy of a cruise?

I go on the NCL website, pull up the cruise date and check each category, how many are still available vs how many cabins total.

The NCL site will only show a max of 15 available rooms in any category. There are other TA sites what will show up to 100 in a category.

So can you share those sites that consumers can check on? On the NCL site, it shows the Haven categories on the deck plan and lists how many are still available for sale.

I can't, because we aren't allowed to mention specific TAs on this web site. I will say, I found out about them through this thread, so if you go back to some older posts you might be able to figure it out. Sorry I can't be more helpful, just don't want to get myself banned!

I know that the Bliss has only sailed on two Panama Canal Transits to date.  I will be on the third one in March of 2019.  I just received my upgrade email. I am currently booked in a Mini-Suite with Large Balcony, so my upgrade options are all Haven.

I am considering bidding on a H9 (Spa Haven Suite) or a H6 (Haven Aft Facing Balcony).  H9's are starting at $500 and H6's are starting at $750. Any luck with anyone obtaining success on the lower end of the scale?

I'm not sure how full the Panama Canal transit is currently.

We are also on this sailing, but did not receive the offer to bid.  We booked through NCL, CAS (casino at sea). We currently have a spa mini-suite, and would be thrilled to bid for a H9 at those starting bids.  Not sure why we didn't get the offer, other than, we booked this sailing 2 years ago, and rates have gone way up since then.  Any chance we could still get an offer to bid after the initial ones went out a few days ago?  Any idea why we would not have received an offer?  The spa mini-suites have been sold out for months - up until about a week ago and 2 opened up.  The last I checked, there were 10 haven rooms available across all categories.

Have you checked to see if you have the banner when you log into My NCL? Or the messages in your Message Center in My NCL? Sometimes people don't receive an email. I haven't heard of anyone booking through NCL and/or CAS and not getting a chance to bid. There was a stretch there where people in Spa rooms couldn't bid, but I believe that's been resolved.

Yes, daily.  Both in Message Center and looking for banner - nothing there.  Should I call to check on it?  But, who would I call?

Might try your email that NCL has for you when you first placed your bid, they usually send a conformation letter for your bid. There is a link to modify or cancel your bid

I used the email link to check in, and that's when I show the processing for 1 of the bids. I Did check my credit Card and there was no sign of activity. There is still time left, maybe I will get lucky. Either way I get to spend 2 nights in New Orleans and then the 10 day cruise. Life Is Good.

By the way does anyone know if upgrades are ever processed on the weekends?

I received an offer to bid on our upcoming cruise in March. The form consisted of a sliding bar starting at the lowest acceptable bid and going up from there. There was no advice as to whether the bid was good, bad or indifferent. This is a bid for a higher category suite. Are things done differently for suites?

To the right of the slider is a thing that looks like the CBS peacock. When you move the slider a pointer moves on the peacock as shown in these graphics.

We've sailed with NCL 6 times before and this was the first time we received an opportunity to bid...

The one that showed as processing was for a standard balcony from an ocean view for $110.00 per person.

then it reset to pending.

Another person on the same cruise went from a ocean view to a balcony for $75.00 per person yesterday.

It must really just be a roll of the dice I guess.

I too, never got an offer to bid on my Feb. 2019 sailing.  I called the old upsell # 1-800-625-4309 and after 24 hours got the e-mail to bid.  Now the banner sporadically comes up on MYNCL.

This thread has been very helpful! We are sailing on the Bliss 1/26, we are booked into an M9 Spa Mini-Suite and bid to upgrade to H9 (Haven Spa Suite) or H5 (Haven Courtyard). As of today the NCL site lists cruise as sold out with exception of inside rooms, a couple days ago there was availability in all categories except Spa and Haven.  They could be assigning all the Sail Away GTY rooms, Haven has shown sold out for a while, but there is always a chance. I'll keep you updated.

On 1/17 Breakaway 10 day sailing. (Leaving on a Thursday)

10 days early on 1/7 - many in our cruise group received lower category upgrades from inside/ocean-view to balcony rooms.

6 days early on 1/11 - All or most of the haven /suite/spa upgrades happened for our group, with soon to follower other lower category upgrades again.

Upgrades happened between 1pm-4pm in both cases. Bids going from pending to processing, with the rest expired.

In my case after seeing processing, soon after the bid page went away entirely saying "Not Authorized to bid" But an hour later both credit card were charged and email came through confirming the bid.

About 30 minutes later then my NCL Summary page showed my new room number and E-Docs and Luggage tags were also updated.

Had been watching the previous 2 sailings of this ship, and the upgrades in those case happened 3 and 4 days out, we got the 6 day out upgrade - may be that our sailing was on a thursday and the others were sat/sun sailings that allowed for a bit earlier announcement for us who knows.

Our upgrade was from BB Balcony -> H9 Haven Spa Balcony - bid in lower to mid poor range - very excited to experience first time in Haven 🙂

2nd time on norwegian, first time we had opportunity to bid. Ship is mostly full though not quite sold out.

We are sailing in Feb (about 3 plus weeks from now) and have moved from almost the bottom of poor to fair on our bid. I don't know if that is good or bad, but have my fingers crossed
