My son is also a creature of habit. He is 12 turning 13 in about 4 months.

Well he did like the water slides the first week but he had friends onboard then. Although he refused to do the teens club. We had a great time bowling and doing the F1 simulator. Though the 5d experience is fun, we did not find it to be worth the price.

What is your next cruise after mariner in 3 weeks time? We will be on allure in oct.

After Mariner in 3 weeks, we are going into dry dock until March. Unfortunately, as a teacher, I can only cruise during march and the summer months. Always the high seasons. However, March will be our Star Class experiment on Harmony so I am pretty excited for that! [emoji4]

I’ve really enjoyed following along on your Yacht Club cruise. Hopefully your disembarkation paperwork will explain what the latest is that you can actually stay on the ship on disembarkation day. We have a very late flight and I want to leave the ship (or Yacht Club) at 10 AM. I hope that’s allowed.

Great day in San Juan today! It was raining to start today but by the time we ate breakfast and got off the ship, the sun was shining and it was hot!

Today we decided to do a self guided walking tour of the city. Thanks to great friends on the Royal Caribbean Blog (you know who you are), we had already decided we would walk uphill into the city to El Morro and then take the scenic route along the water back to the ship. This strategy allowed us to tackle the uphill climb while we still had energy. Here are some photos of our walk along the way.

Upon arriving at El Morro it was quite warm. And that's coming from a Canadian who doesn't like the cold. But were treated to beautiful views.

You can sit in the lounge and you tell a butler when you are ready to leave and he will escort you off but 10 is about as late as you can stay.

Latest they advised was 10:30 am for disembarking. We stayed on till about 10:10 to see if the crowds in customs was thinner, but it wasn't.

Yes. We did this multiple times.

You can even order 2 of the same thing..

Two lobster tails and Coke....it's like NCL's kryptonite. ;p

I see you had Dexter for a waiter. I thought he was quite good and enjoyed conversing with him all during the week.

(Didn't see a need to post the lobster photo again!):D

We just upgraded from Aurea to YC for our October sailing. We are also celebrating our anniversary. :) this thread is really amping up my excitement level!

Our friends Beamafar and Skier52 nudged us over the YC edge last year, as we had an Aurea booking for a second time. Aurea is quite an experience, but our friends were absolutely right in their guidance. We will not regret but rather cherish your choice of upgrade.

Nice meeting you and your wife also. We just had some orange juice after breakfast and hung around.

I wish we knew about the potato chips in top sail lounge the first week. Didn't find out about them till the 10th night of the cruise when I saw some being served.

Hope to see you again on another cruise. Email me at the address from our cruise card.

After dinner we went to watch "Timeless". I was expecting another mix of the usual singing, aerial work, dancing, etc. and boy was I surprised! John was absolutely correct in saying that this show was by far the best show yet! A great tribute to Michael Jackson, high energy, and yes, the usual mix of variety acts as well. But definitely a treat to watch tonight! Here are some scopes from tonight:

Re Havensight vs. Crown Bay: You should be able to determine this for St. Thomas (or for any other port) by Googling cruise ship calendar for ___________ port. You'll also get to see what other ships will be in port with you.

Hi Linda!

Thanks - I know these sites but they do not differentiate between the different docks (at least the sites I could find).

@Lovetocruise2002: Thanks for the pics with the regulations for the slides. Do I understand it right that under 7 years nobody is allowed to slide altough he or she has reached the asked height for the slides? Which kid is e.g. under 102 cm with an age of 5 or 6 years? Stupid regulation...

We are planning to hide out in the YC today as it is a sea day. When we try the slides tomorrow, I will ask a crew member there for clarification.

Day 6 - Sea Day

Got to bed pretty late last night. So far the cruise has been every bit as relaxing as I have wanted. I do not regret trying out the MSC Yacht Club experience. Today is the second formal/elegant night. I am excited to try out this lobster that everyone has raved about. Other than that, we have no real set plans other than relaxing and soaking in our last two days on board.

Have you tried out any of the spa or thermal suite offerings?

What did you think of the clear-floor bridges?

It appears you’ve sailed RCCL the most but did mention Disney cruises in your past. How does this MSC cruise compare to your experiences on lines other than RCCL?

Did you attend the CC M&M or the Black card part or when the officers visited YC? Any thoughts on these?

Thank you for your input and for the blog, photos, and scopes—so VERY helpful and makes us even more excited about our Dec YC cruise!
