How easy to get a fridge in cabin?

We are travelling on Vision soon, have traveled on her before and know there are no fridges in standard OV cabins, this time though we will have some meds which need to be kept cold, does anyone know if RC will supply a small fridge for this or whether we should just take a cool bag and ask for a daily ice supply?

Send your request to special_needs@rccl.com. They will supply a medical fridge.

When we were on the Vision recently we requested a medical fridge for DH's meds. What we got was a small cooler specially made for meds. The only problem with it was that it took up a large space on the vanity/desk as that was the only place it could go because of the location of the electrical outlet. We found it too cumbersome and ended up using a Frio cooling pack instead.

When we were on Vision in October/November 2018 our travel agent requested a medical fridge prior to the cruise, but we never received one. We ended up receiving a "cooler" type of fridge and our room steward filled the ice bucket up twice a day and put it in the "cooler" to keep our medications cold. We tipped our steward extra since this added to his workload. This was the first time we've had a problem receiving a medical fridge.

Any chance of getting a balcony cabin because there will be a fridge in there.

I wouldnt rely on those "fridges" for any medication that needs to be keep at a certain temp as those things are hard pressed to keep a soda below room temperature.

On some ships the mini-refrigerator is more of a mini-barely-cooler. On the newer ships it's usually better. If you fill out the special needs form to get a mini-refrigerator for medications, on the ships where the mini-refrigerator is barely a mini-cooler, they have small medicine coolers that do well.

I believe the lowest level staterooms might be missing coolers.

Agree. Did half dozen cruises in OV cabin's on Vision class, lower classes were never built with Coolers/Fridges. They were added starting with new build's Voyager Class and later. At time contained candy, pop, chips & water to purchase...
