RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)

When you go to modify the existing bid there should be a link to bid on others. Also, look for the confirmation email you got when you bid, that should also have a link to further bidding.

Just booked last minute cruise on November 27 with two connecting rooms (travelling with husband and two teenage boys). My reservation received a RoyalUp and wondered if I bid on a 2 bedroom, can my boys then be added to the room if my bid is accepted? Happy with my connecting as we have space and I don’t have to share a bathroom with 3 guys.

Years ago we had 2 adjoining cabins similar to you for our family of 4. We ended up getting one of the cabins upgraded to the Royal Suite. While we all stayed in the Royal Suite they couldn't "add" the kids to the suite as they technically were booked in another cabin. They would not allow the cancellation of the second cabin to add all of us into the suite but what cabin everyone slept was of no concern to them.

I've got a couple bids in for OV or Balcony on my casino offer. I tried to get one when I booked and pay the extra money, but was told it can't be done. So here I am hoping for the best.

Did you get an email? I tried going to RoyalUp and entering my information and it says I'm not within 30 days of sailing, and I don't recall that being the case on previous cruises.

Yes, my first time dealing with this bidding. I thought I was SOL, still might be, but worth a try. I booked 10/14 and received a royalup email 10/17 for my 11/28 cruise.

Hello!

I am new to RC and this bidding thing is new- so bear with me. 
we booked a 3 day Navigator of the Sea for Dec. booked ocean view and then received email today to bid for upgrade to panoramic ocean view (no balcony)

We put our bid in and it shows pending, however, I never even saw that room available when we originally booked. I went back today to try and do a mock booking for the room but still can’t find it anywhere. Does this mean it’s a high likelihood of not getting the bid since I can’t find the room?

The one that is available might be from someone else who has bid up so they won't throw it back in inventory if they know you're going in it. Its all a shell game.

Per person, so upgrade cost was double what I listed above. 

 

Got the same behavior from the royal up website on Monday of this week (6 days before cruising). Bid that was eventually approved moved to pending and was not changeable, and all other bids were moved to expired.

My 11/28 bids as of today, 2 OV's bids expired, 1 balcony bid pending and no way to modify either. Crossing fingers I'm getting something out of this deal.

I have two cabins and both received an email saying the upgrade was accepted.  There is a charge for the lower bid amount on my credit card and the cabin number changed on the boarding pass.  The other cabin there is no pending charge on my card and the cabin number and boarding pass have not updated.  Is that normal?

Our experience with two royal up cabin upgrades was seeing the credit card charges come through first, then the cabin changes on the boarding pass. We got one email congratulating is for the first upgrade but nothing for the second, even checking the spam folder. Good luck, hope your second upgrade comes through!

All our 11/28 bids still show pending. Now you have me refreshing all the time to look for changes. Fingers crossed!!

Yeah but that make matters worse for us waiting. I really don't know what they mean, other than the bids can't be changed and something is going on with our bookings. No emails on mine either.

So strange… We book our free casino cruise and upgraded to a Jr. no problem. Saved $600 doing this vs booking a direct Jr.  . Good luck on your bids, though you could call in the casino line and try again. Sometimes Royal’s staff doesn’t know what they can actual do.

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. I tried twice on the last cruise. I never have this problem with Carnival, they always give me the prices and I decide. Same thing with NCL. You're probably right and I'm the unlucky person to get the 3 that don't now.
