Brat pack leaving the Escape

Saw this mentioned on that other internet site.  No longer there as of the 20th, replaced with Choir of Man in the main theater, which sounds amazing but I already paid for Choir of Man where you get the dinner with it.  Hopefully they refund it, since seeing it in the main theater sounds amazing.  I wasn’t really looking forward to Brat Pack.  Anyone else hear this?

WOW!  If true...Amazing!  I was not a fan of Brat Pack (and yes, I did excuse myself early since I did not want to see anymore and I do hope I didn't trip over y'all while I left.  LOL!).

I still would pay to see Choir of Man!

Everyone has their own opinion about shows/ language/ times, etc.  Relentless.

I am not booking Brat Pack or After Midnight on next sailing (you can thank me for not taking one of your seats.), but I was planning to book Choir for upcharge when it opened.  Game changer now?

Does anyone  know if they are going to bring another show on the Escape?

They are adding in four more levels of cabins and opening a sort of “eat or die” death match in the buffet that you can gamble on.

nope..i also seen the same thing in various facebook groups. This is a good change. I did not like the brat pack or the after midnight shows.

main shows is after midnight and choir of man. supper club venue will now be for the fly in entertainers

On our NYE cruise, Melba Moore had one or two show in the supper club.

I'm bummed about the Brat Pack.  We saw it last June and loved it.  We are going again this June and hoped to see it again.  Not so thrilled with After Midnight.

Not going to miss Brat Pack. Saw it and After Midnight in July on Escape and they were both underwhelming.

Choir of Man was absolutely fantastic. Lucky to have seen it with the original cast that created it and it was probably the best show I've seen on a cruise. Between Choir of Man and the dueling pianos, we were very entertained.

Booked on Encore for Jan. 2020 and hopefully Kinky Boots is a good one. I heard they won't have the dueling pianos on Encore and that makes me sad. So much fun that you could walk in on at any time of the night and enjoy.

So this is confirmed.  Received emails cancelling my reservation for both the Brat Pack and Choir of Man.  Called NCL and they said I would be receiving a refund for what I paid for Choir of Man in about a week.  Right now, until they determine new times, can’t rebook.

I am not too sad about this. I tried to see Brat Pack with my parents in October. We unfortunately had to leave, which I felt terrible about. We had evidently picked the worst seats in the house, about 8 rows back, right in the center. The lights from the stage were shining directly into our eyes and they flashed them incessantly, brightly,  and unpredictably. Less than 10 minutes in, I realized there was no way I could stay. I hadn't really heard a word of the show, because I was just in constant fear of the next time I would be blinded.. trying to predict when I should close my eyes. I finally gave up, as did the rest of my party. Over an hour later, my eyes still physically HURT. It might have been good in different seats? I guess now I will never know.

 

I don't mind flashing, blinking, colorful, bright lights. It's not like I'm prone to seizures or anything. But these were banks of full on stage lights shining DIRECTLY into my eyeballs over and over and over again. It was miserable. I don't know about canceling the show altogether, but they should definitely fire their lighting director!

 

Looking forward to Choir of Man when I am back on the Escape in April with my sister.

I think Choir of Man in the theater will sort of ruin the entire premise of the thing. Now it's just a bunch of guys singing. How ordinary.

I don't disagree. I saw them in the supper club in July and that was a great venue for the show.

I'm sure there will still be plenty of interaction and they'll still serve beer on stage but it will be different.

The original cast is actually touring the US currently and they are doing theaters and getting great reviews so I'm sure it'll still be great.

Yeah I just got the e-mail last night, ughhh now I have to try and get reservations along with the 4000 other passengers, oh well maybe more time in the casino 🙄

I will tell you that when I sailed Escape in July (ship was completely full), I had made reservations for all the shows as was recommended and there wasn't 1 show that I couldn't have just walked up to and gotten in. There were always seats available. So many people make reservations and then don't go for various reasons so I wouldn't worry at all about seeing whatever interests you.

Does anyone know whether the Dueling Pianos (Howl at the Moon) will still be performing?  I could have sworn it was shown under the entertainment or bars tab for our May cruise on the Escape, but now I can't seem to find it anywhere...

Last time they did this (moving the Brat Pack from the Supper Club to the Theater) they had guest performers with free dinners in the Supper Club for a couple of years before they booke COM.

So now COM is officially in main Theater along with After Midnight with no up charge (Escape)?  Just wanna get this straight since NCL offers no updates.  HATM is also still valid on Escape?

Huh!  Thank you for your opinion.  I beg to differ.  COM has scheduled shows all over the US and I will be grabbing a few tickets when they visit the Jersey Shore.  Relax LrgPizza...
