Happy Hour and other ways to save $ on drinks

You can get a double for $3 more. On our last cruise, at the Red Frog Pub there were half off certain drinks on port days.

We have purchased Cheers on 3 day cruises but never on 7 or 8 days, can't drink that much. We did take advantage of the pitchers of beer from the Red Frog Pub on our last cruise, you save a little over buying individual beers.

A lot of people just take advantage of cheap drinks at the ports of call. Just remember to leave the bar before the ship leaves the dock.

Yes I can also confirm they did this happy hour on the Sensation on embarkation day and every port day (HMC, GT, Nassau).  It was a great deal!

Hmmmm, a conundrum, “half price happy hour” “$1 off craft beer”. So craft beers are only $2? LOL. Wouldn’t that be nice.

If there are any craft fans on this thread, do they now have a bigger selection, It used to be Sam and Sierra.

This is what we did on the Breeze this month.  Bought one Red Frog and one Blue Iguana Tervis brand tumbler for $10 each and enjoyed $9 refills interchangeably.  One day also offered $3 second shot on top.

In the comedy club you can get pitchers for about $35. We could get 5-6 drinks out of one pitcher. My hubby and I loved the pitchers since we could each get nearly 3 drinks each for the evening. Pitchers work best if you have someone to share with. They started making them stronger and stronger as the cruise went on because they knew us so well and we always tipped extra. We plan on doing this again and have heard that we can get fishbowls (same concept) in other bars around the ship. We pick a new drink each time and enjoy several glasses without the need for a refill. We honestly don’t drink much beyond the wine we bring aboard, a drink or two during the week with dinner, and the pitchers at night and those don’t happen every night either. We typically spend about $200-$250 total in drinks so cheers has never been worth it. Plus if I tried to drink enough to make cheers worth it I’d be sick. My stomach and head can only handle so much alcohol, especially vodka.

Have been looking for info as well. We are not hg drinkers but I like a nice drink sometimes. Hope hubby will let loose a little bit and have a couple also

On the Pride they had a milk stout.

In addition to the fishbowls, they also had a beer flight and rum sampler that I'm pretty sure worked out as a discount vs. full price for the same amount of alcohol.  Serenity had some various sangria pitchers, and I think some other bars might have too.  There were also long tubes of beer (I'd worry about it getting warm if I drank beer), and beer buckets save $2 for 4 beers (or ciders, which is what we had).  Alchemy has a tasting where you can get 4 mini martinis for a little less than the price of 2 regular - at least a way to try a few types.  I think they had the casino specials listed before too.

bonus points if you go around dumping ice buckets on people and planking across the dining room tables at dinner.

 

If you're not shy start making friends and see if you can get people to buy you drinks...
