Certain "free" drinks in the casino

Read about this in another post and thought it might deserve a thread of it's own so it doesn't get lost.  According to this passenger who just returned from an Equinox cruise, the casino now offers certain free drinks to those playing in the casino.  The only confirmed one so far is Bud Light.  Any others aware of this new feature and what exactly the drink choices are?  This is great for those who are sailing on a resident rate with no perks.

I don’t frequent the casino but DH spends some time there and hasn’t been offered any free drinks recently.  We were on a cruise last year where there were free drinks a couple of nights for a specified time, e.g., 9-11.

Depends on the cruise and the day/night.  When offered, it’s basic bar drinks.... no menu but you can’t really name your liquor or wine.   We’ve seen it offered all day on some cruise....only at night on others...and not offered at all on others.

when offered, it’s only for players, not watchers, etc

I was the one asking same question on the other thread and got the response of Bud.

So ..... I obviously can't offer insight as to the drinks offered as I wondered myself, but I can add (like others have said) that this is not just a general offering to those in the casino but instead for those actively playing.  I have seen it in the dailies too for random days (nights) so you can't just assume it to be an all the time offering so you have to watch the daily for it.  I even read someone say that they played (and were playing) a lot and had difficulty getting a drink while playing so they went went to the bar and had difficulty there (since they would think you were just a walk by?) so it would seem it is highly dependent on staff coming to you.

I am definitely going to see how this plays out on my upcoming cruise in couple weeks as I will be without a package this time and I do plan to 'visit' the casino to make my deposit 🙂

We were on a November, 2018 TA on Silhouette for 15 days and all regular players in the casino could order free drinks.  In the daily, it said well liquor but when requested a "fancy" drink like a mudslide, I received it w/o problem.  I was at the blackjack table and noticed guests ordering name whiskey, etc.

Perhaps they felt by keeping us well lubricated we would stay longer and lose more money?  I am not much of a drinker and never exceeded my one drink/day, although I enjoyed the pina colada and other fun libations.

On the Edge a few months ago, I am pretty sure I was offered free drinks every time I played the slots (probably 4 different days at varying times day and night) so assumed free drinks were always offered. Reading this, I checked my dailies for the cruise and only one day had free drinks all day actually listed in the daily (a sea day). I know that I was offered drinks quite a few times and not just that day. I think I only got a water one time - I had the PAL and prefer the good stuff. 😉

My guess is that the list of available drinks closely matches the Standard beverage package (way to the left below). Of course, The Casino Bar may not carry all the beers below, but this gives you an idea about what might be free in the Casino.

Edit: Sorry, this looks smaller than I thought. Here is the PDF below:

Just off the Summit and yes, they offer free drinks to players at the tables. Pretty much whatever you wanted. I do not know about those playing slots. We sail Celebrity a lot and this is the first time that we have encountered this.

Clearly there is no consistency on free drinks....not offered on the constellationthis week at all.

I wonder if the free drinks in the casino appear when action is light in the casino, to draw people in. Though there doesn't seem to be any discernable factor that makes any cruise line consistent...

That could be a factor - our Edge cruise had a fairly quiet casino and, as I said, I am pretty sure that I was offered drinks every time I was in there.

My wife and have played table games and slots on every Celebrity cruise we have taken and have never been offered a free drink.

TeeRick, next time we sail on the same cruise, stick with me and I will make sure you get a drink! 😉

I actually just remembered that on the Infinity in April, I also was offered drinks in the casino. I don't remember if it was every time, but I do remember being asked at least once. It was moderately busy on that cruise - I was able to get my preferred machine every time so it couldn't have been overly busy.

We do enjoy our drinks on board and we usually have a beverage package.  Maybe you do too since the first time we met on Edge you were sitting at the bar in Eden.  So I will look forward to next time sailing and drinking with you and hubby!

Sorry, off topic, but couldn't resist.

You won't get that one in the Casino unfortunately!

Yum.  That brings me back!  Those Eden drinks were delicious.  We enjoy World Class Bar on the S-Class ships too.  We go there instead of the crowded Martini Bar before dinner usually.

I was on the  Summit to Bermuda and New England late last month and play the slots.  The first time I ordered a drink at the casino bar - I paid for it.  After that, I did not. The bartender - Randy told me just to see him, though when he saw me playing he always asked if I wanted anything.  I either got a glass of wine, a vodka tonic, or Bailey's on the rocks.
