Good morning everyone, hope you are all well today.

Not a good start to the new year for us unfortunately. Some of you may remember I had DCIS (early breast cancer) last year and I had my first follow up mammogram in Dec, they rang me last week, “chalky” deposits found so had to have a further more magnified mammogram yesterday, just waiting results now.

Our dog was diagnosed with an ulcer in her eye over Xmas, she has been having antibiotics six times a day plus her own blood serum into her eye. Saw vet again last night, it has got worse, appt at 9.15 to see eye specialist in Penrith. She either needs surgery to make a new eye flap (if they can)to try save her vision or she will have to have her eye removed. So it’s an early start for me today as it’s over an hour to Penrith even with no hold ups on M6.

Hope all goes well for everyone with appointments, treatments etc

Michelle

Sorry to read this, but hope all goes well for both of you.

Good  Morning 🙂 Were off to the to the options today, suppose they will try and get me to buy some new expensive frames ..That's one thing I wont see happening 🙃

Ghosts, spooks do think they exist ?  I once dated a girl who was a ghost  I knew

from the very first time I saw her walk through the door .

They say even objects can be spooky like my yoghurts .. Paranormal Activia ? 🤔

Last night I was researching haunted cruise ships and was shocked to find out

P&O's newest ship Vera was haunted 😲

Have a nice day , will leave you with the evidence  !   🙂

You may get more results if you open a new thread as not all posters come into this one .

For adults and kids

Anthem of the seas absolutely every time.

P&O have no tips but you can stop your tips at Guest services on Princess and Royal Caribbean and use your own discretion.

Ok will try that. They never seem to allow comparisons and it usually gets shut down but

I would agree with Graham, Royal Caribbean every time for the kids and it’s great for adults too. We went on Anthem last August with the grandchildren and they loved it, it’s a lovely ship

It's 11˚C, the sun is shining, bits of the sky are blue and we're off to the Panto... "Oh! Yes we are!" Friends said, "You can't be. Christmas is behind you!" But our reply is "Oh no it isn't!"

And it's a proper old fashioned panto... "just like the ones we used to have" with "girls" in the "male" lead... Jenifer Saunders aka "Capt'n Hook" and Julian Clary as Dame? No! As Seaman Smee... "Oh dear me!"

Ah-well!... Epiphany not until the weekend and today we hope to see 10 lords a leaping and then... tomorrow and the next day the pipers and the drummers!

As Dickens wrote: “For it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas!" "There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good-humour.”

Well we are back from the hospital and I now have the job of changing dressings every day for the next 10 days which will be a trial for me because I  can't stand the sight of blood or stitches etc.  He will get another appointment for approximately 2 to 3 weeks time to check the wound but he has make an appointment to have the stitches taken out at the doctor's next Wednesday or Thursday.

His doctor says they think he has a small 'leak' somewhere in his stomach area and he's to have a camera both up and down to see where it is, so not quite over the hump yet but fingers crossed. I'm still a little worried tonight, but no more transfusions and he's now on oral antibiotics. He's eating like a horse now, so onwards and upwards🤞

Avril

Thanks for the update Avril. It's such good news that Frank is eating well again. I hope the doctors' strike doesn't impact on the time it takes to get his tests. Fingers and toes crossed. Thinking of you both. Jane xxx

I just received an email from Princess offering us the opportunity to bid for an upgrade, we spend a lot of time choosing our cabin and always say no upgrade because we like to be sure that we are in what we consider to be a quiet position on the ship.  I just don't understand why Princess would even think that we would be tempted  to consider paying for an upgrade when we have already marked our booking as "no upgrade"

We are the same - pick our cabins with care and don't want to move at all ! Just because it is a so called 'better category' doesn't make it a better location !

We are due to join Azura on the 19th and yesterday received an e-mail telling me it was not too late to bid for an upgrade, although we too have "no upgrade" on our booking.

Although (unless their are some very recent cancellations) my friend booked the last available cabin a few weeks ago.

We finally had a chat with the doctor today and he told us that Frank had a heart failure last Thursday and it stunned us both. I am really worried now, more than before.

So sorry to read Franks news Avril and Mrs K was as stunned as you are when it happened to me as well , we thought the world had ended .

Folk get it mixed up with a heart attack ,which funnily enough I have never had .

The way I understood it was part of my heart simply does not work anymore .

First things first Avril do not panic , looking back to 2019  my heart output was down to 27 % or something but with a careful diet and sticking to the 1500ml, my heart revived itself  a bit .

Now have a HF output of  49% . So it can be improved .

For me No salty foods or alcohol ,you grow a lot of natural foods so your half way there .

Ask one of the nurses for the booklet on heart failure ,some of the stories in it will help .

A long way to go but hopefully you and Frank will get there .

Hope what I have put is some help to you . Take care the both of you .

I am sorry to hear this Avril.  I  know from experience exactly how worried you are. It is easy to say but try to think positively at least they know what is wrong now and can start to treat him.

DH had heart failure 19 years ago and after an 11 hour surgery to replace his valves and a further week in hospital he came home and is still here.  He has to take 5 different tablets every day, has to watch what he eats and has regular checkups.  He can't fly because one of the replacement valves is not working properly so we take cruises instead.

We are think about you both.

Thank you so much kalos, it has eased my worries a little. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's not easy. Frank is just worried he can't do his gardening anymore. He could take up comedy like another person we all know and love. x

My thoughts are with you both Avril.

Kalos has given you excellent advice and Josys information about her husbands recovery from heart failure 19 years ago gives us all hope.

Having an early diagnosis Frank can get the care and medication to vastly improve his heart condition.

My heart attack 4 years ago was a shock but it was minor and caught early thankfully and I got treatment and medication.

Best wishes

Graham.
