Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! Good news to report today. Owen’s wrist is lined up perfectly, so he will not require surgery. When they removed the temporary cast, his wrist is still quite swollen. But, he is now sporting a dark blue for the Athletic’s (his team colour) fibreglass cast. Much lighter and easier for him to manage. We will be back to the fracture clinic on July 4th for a new cast once the remaining swelling is gone. We will find out more about healing time at our next appt.

That is great news!  Happy surgery is not needed.  Owen looks like he is in a good mood.

For @Ocean Boya better X-ray from today for you, and part of the injury report that will be submitted to the Provincial Baseball Association as well as the tournament organizer as per OBA regulations. I figured you would appreciate it.

That is such awesome news! So glad Owen does not have to have surgery. That will make recovery so much faster as you know. Give him my best wishes!

It’s been a very sad for me but I won’t discuss politics. What I will discuss is my son doing a belated Father’s Day with me.

First we went had sushi together at one of our favorite spots. Boy it’s nice when your son picks up the tab.

Then we went to a nearby craft cocktail bar and tasted some interesting cocktails. Sorry there are no pics.

After we got home he presented me with several gifts.

The first being a do your own whiskey kit. Here you can take a basic bourbon and add different flavors and age the spirits in a bottle for several weeks.

Some of the flavors that you can infuse are dark chocolate, vanilla, orange peel, and birds eye chili to create a flavor infused bourbon.

This should be fun.

Next a cocktail smoker.

and finally a book that we really need.

All in all I could not be prouder of my son and who he has become. It made my sad depressing day a little brighter.

Sounds like a great day spent with your son, topped off with a wonderful gift.

I remember seeing Louie in Sam’s Club for $1200 20 years ago and teasing my wife about buying a bottle. Wish I had now.

I did buy a glass aboard Explorer as my retirement gift at $250 a glass. It was incredible. Here was my little video of the experience.

Greg I remember watching someone return an opened, and half empty box of Christmas Crackers in January for a refund.

I wonder, 🤔 would this with Louie too? 😂😂😂

Thanks. The reduction looks really good. I think in the end Owen will be fine. As I said before his young healthy bones and connective tissue should heal well.

My estimate for a time frame would be pretty stong bone at the fracture area within about 4 weeks and completed in six. But I could be off a bit I guess.

How are things in your house?

Not too bad. The fractured rib is still his major source of pain.  Plus the temporary cast/splint thing is very awkward & heavy.  Surgery is scheduled for first thing Tuesday morning.  It’ll be a long day. We have to arrive at 6:15 am, surgery begins between 7:45-8 am, approximately 2 hours for the procedure, then he’ll be in recovery for a while after.  I stocked up on wine yesterday 😉

Great news about Owen.  Hopefully, he's back to being a "normal" teenager quickly.

What a great day with your son.  You have a lot to be proud of...and some fun new "toys" to play with.  What cocktail are you going to smoke first?

Good to hear he is doing better.

I was wondering and asked at a store. They said part of it is the decanter and referred me to: https://us.louisxiii-cognac.com/pages/the-decanter.

I was also told about some other spirit that comes in a Baccarat decanter, a Lalique decanter, etc. where part of the high price is the decanter itself.
Not to degrade the liquor itself....that has to be excellent too fror that price!
