Yesterday I saw this posted.

I thought,  there are some Mayflies out but not enough to shut it down.

But when it turns dark they are really attracted to light.

This is the sidewalk leading to the pier.   It was covered with Mayflies.

I am on that sailing departing March 11, 2024!  Is the one you are booked on as well?  I do hope you can meet with her while we are there!

Yes, Jennifer!  That is the one we are booked on!  Looking forward to meeting you!

@LuckynanaAnd I went to high school near the ferry!! Complete opposite schools😃

We had one girl who came over from Governor’s Island. We thought that was so great as we all just took the bus.

Both the all girls' schools that Marietta and I both graduated from have closed.  St. Louis Academy for Girls closed in 1970.  What year did St. Peter's close, Marietta?  Not too long ago, am I right?

Oh Maryann, how special you are to make such a positive impact on the life of a child you never met.  Hopefully, you will be able to meet Yulieth when you'll be in Cartagena.  Maybe the organization/church that helped match you up with Yulieth can help clear the path for a meeting.

Thank you, Bonnie.  It would be lovely to meet Yulieth.  My goodness, she would be almost 18 years old in 2024!

I was able to catch a few sunset pics from the pier last evening. I like seeing when the water gets  choppy and splashing over the pier.

The white stuff on the pier at the bottom off the pic is a bunch of washed up Mayflies.

Love the pictures of the choppy water, John!

I hope the Mayflies are now gone for the rest of your vacation there!

@dani negreanuI'm so sorry that you came down with Covid, Dani!  As the others have said, at least it was after your Cruise, although it had to have been awful flying home while feeling so sick!  I've had a raw throat and cough since last Wednesday, and I told Jim, I couldn't imagine feeling this way while being stuck in a cabin while cruising!  I sure hope you are starting to feel much better.  No fun when you've got fever and the chills!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures!!  Looking forward to hearing all about your time while on Beyond and seeing Captain Kate.  Get Well Quickly, Dani!🌹

I have a cousin who is considered to be one of the best skin cancer surgeons in the US.The first time I was diagnosed with skin cancer I called her and told her the name of the doctor treating me.She said that he was an excellent doctor. If she did not believe that to be so she would have treated me herself.

Today, we were off with the grandkids to Keystone Safari Animal Park.

First stop, the butterfly house.  Not many out, but they did manage to get a couple to land on them.

Another day of fun in the books.  Lots of other animals they loved seeing, and they have new sections they are building to place more animals.

@LuckynanaSadly, St. Peter’s closed 2011.  The boys school is still going strong though.  St. John Villa also closed a few years back.

St. Joseph Hill Academy and Notre Dame Academy are the only all girls schools left on the Island, yes, Marietta?

@Luckynana Yay!!

@dani negreanu  Sorry you come down with Covid too and I hope you continue to have mild symptoms.  My 86 year old Father in Law who has lived in assisted living since Feb '20 just got it too last week.  His symptoms are very mild and we are grateful for that and that he went so long without catching it!

Gorgeous girls.   😻  How old is Annabel now?  I'm thinking still under 1?

Samantha will turn 1 July 7th.  Annabel was born on March 3, 2022, so she is just over 3 months old.

Sooo sorry that your vacation did not end well.

I hope you gain more strength and your fever and cough diminish and your hubby continues to test negative.

We’re looking forward to your return and reading more about your trip and seeing your always wonderful photos.

Take care,

Sue
