Exciting times for him!
I always referred to this as a double edged sword. On the one hand, it’s a relief when they can finally drive themselves to all the places they need to be; on the other hand, they’re driving themselves!

I got my DS a couple "authorized user" credit cards on my accounts.  My rule was before he was coming home from wherever he was, he had to call me to let me know he was on his way (then I'd know when to start worrying if he was late arriving).

When he made the call home, if I needed him to pick up food at a drive-thru, I could give him my order and he could just charge it on my credit card, and he could order something for himself on my dime.  One card was for my purchases and one card was for his purchases -- he paid me cash for the things he used on "his" card.

This system worked a little TOO well -- when he went off to the Army after graduation, I lost my built-in DoorDash driver!!!

Since I just started watching NetFlix "The Crown" and am only on Season 2, I have a question for anyone to answer.  When Elizabeth ascended to the throne & became Queen, her husband Philip did not become King. He stayed a Duke and later became Prince.

However, now that Charles is becoming King, how come Camilla will become Queen?

I don't understand the difference as to why one is elevated and one is not. Is it a blood line thing?

I'm glad you asked, because I didn't understand either.

(The answer makes sense, unfortunately.  It's crazy that in this day and age, females are still considered "less than"!!!)

I was going to ask how the pups like the new "grass" in the yard, but I see that someone else already beat me to it!

Glad it's working out so well for you!

My husband grew up on a farm in South Dakota.  He was the oldest and started driving tractors when he was 7.  His next two brothers are still farming up there.

One of my FB memories for today was my son mowing the yard while our black Lab "supervised" through the window from the comfort of a recliner in the living room.

My kid started driving the garden tractor and mowing at 5yo.  His dad had to dismantle the safety mechanism that shut off the engine when you got off the tractor, b/c the kid didn't weigh enough to activate the switch, so the tractor wouldn't run at all!  LOL  He could back up a trailer better than most adults I know when he was still in elementary school.

But it paid off.  He's had his license for 7 years now, no tickets or accidents (knock wood).  And when he was a private in the Army, his job was driving the company Lieutenant's Humvee, and his LT told him that he was the best driver he'd ever had.

It's sad that kids aren't being taught these "adulting" skills much anymore.

I don't usually watch much television. But tomorrow is a big TV day! I have set up the DVR to record the coronation. This is a really historic event and nothing we have seen in our lifetime. I guess I am a Royal watcher.  I am excited to watch it, and I can skip through the boring bits. ☺️ It starts at 2 AM here.

And then I set a Google reminder for the Kentucky Derby tomorrow. Seven and a half hours of coverage? That is a bit much. Timer is set for 3:30 PM to actually watch the race, which is at 3:57 PT and 6:57 ET. I do enjoy the race every year. ☺️

Tomorrow is a travel day for me, so will miss most of the Coronation. I'll turn it on when I get up, and watch what I can. I am hoping they will be showing the Kentucky Derby on the ship.  I feel a mint julep is on my 'things to do' list for tomorrow.

Good morning, it’s a Royally beautiful sunny Saturday in Sydney.

Some families were even swimming at the natural  harbour swimming pool at Marrinawi Cove at Barangaroo. This only opened summer just gone. I haven’t had a swim here yet.

In the  city to see Steve McCurry’s icons photo exhibition.  No photos permitted but it was the landscape photos that interested me the most.  Nice that they had a bar & cafe open at the exhibit at Pier 2/3 Walsh Bay.3BC2D965-0CC4-43F8-861B-D66E9EF06E5A.thumb.jpeg.bd583bd69e39b1bab007b24e324393d0.jpeg

Then walked all the way up to the AGNSW to see the Wynne Prize (landscapes)

Rock holes in the southern desert region Pitjantjatjara of South Australia.

Artist’s garden in the snowy mountain region of NSW.

The Coronation coverage is on at a very civilised 7.30pm tonight so looking forward to popping open a bottle of bubbly after dinner & settling down to watch.

Excellent! It is just fun to watch the Derby. Safe travels, to wherever you are cruising now, Pat. ☺️

Thanks Patti.  A short 5 night on Radiance from LA to YVR.  Doing it primarily to see some friends from Galveston that have been on her through the Canal.  But you know me, never a reason to turn down a cruise.  Be well.

I was thinking a lot of tv too. I was adding some special CNBC covering of Berkshire Hathaway all day today. Their once a year all day thing is being g covered live all day. Isnt he 90 now?  Kind of a character. Drinks 5 cokes a day and says he is willing to give up 1 year of his life to eat what he wants.

Lol I will probably switch over a few times to see if that's interesting.

Just little ol me (& Max) with a bottle of Veuve Cliequot currently watching the Coronation.  DH has ditched me to watch the Rugby (League) at a mates place.  I am the only one who is interested in the Royal pageantry in the family.  Photos from when  DD & I visited the Royal Mews in London to see all the beautiful Royal carriages.

What a lovely breakfast in such a wonderful morning! This is a monumental day for the UK and anglophiles all over the world.
I wish King Charles a peaceful reign and one that shows his ability to rule wisely.
