Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

We got home last night from a week in the much cooler North Carolina mountains.
I need the cleansing effect of the mountains, especially when I can’t get the same effect by cruising.
I26 from there to I95 was nice, no crazies. Sure enough, we get on 95 and there are the super speeders, the weavers, the tailgaters, everything you could ask for if you need a little stress.
We saw marked and unmarked police cars on the side of the road with their captives.
Evidently their presence still makes no difference. We did a steady 75 most of the time, and people flew past us like we were standing still.

I’m used to it, because 95 runs through Jax and I’m on it all the time, but it irritated the heck out of  Dick. He decided to ratchet it up to 80, and still they flew by. I told him might as well slow down again, because at 80, the cops could catch up to us and pull us over…easy target.

I talked him into stopping at our favorite neighborhood Chinese take out for some comfort food, and enjoying that before unpacking soothed his large lump of irritability.

Oh yeah, know that section well.  We always drove that on the way up to Maine, and then back to Florida in the "land yacht".  A breeze driving up I-26 (except for those rude sea pack drivers 😣).  Then as soon as we got near I-95...the crunch.  Uggh.  And of course SC does not want to improve I-95 to three lane one way like the other states did.  (My Dad has lived in SC for years...he told me the governor refused Fed assistance to redo that stretch).   I-95 through SC is the worst ever.  Bad road, and way too much traffic.

This time...we are flying over that area to return to Florida in a couple of weeks...ahh...first class, drink in hand.  Think I should stare down and call "na-na-na-nah-na".   😄

Happy you made it home safely!  🙂

Recap of our trip to Lakeside Ohio.

Caden started off Sunday morning with a lesson about Daniel in the lions den and David and Goliath.  He said when we think of the two we first think brave but their real strength came from trust in God.  So when we face tough times, be brave and trust God.

Caden and Aubrey happy that we finally made it to Lakeside!

Today was a busy day. Left home at 7:15 and drove 2 hours to a racetrack. I was one of a group who brought cars to an event called Drive 4 Smiles.

Car owners paid a fundraising fees to take kids with health issues and their family members for paced laps on the track. We started at 10 and wrapped up at 3. A long day but so worth while. I will do it again.

I brought my 2020 Shelby GT500. I might have approached 90+mph upon occasion through the day. I know some others were a bit😉 faster.

All lined up before our track lap.

Sounds like a wonderful event for the car owners as well as the kids & families.

Betty White is awesome.🙂 A few nights ago I saw the movie "The Proposal" again for I don't know how many times. She was so funny.

I love that movie!!  🙂  Thought it was pretty cool to see the scenes from Sitka, but now realize most of it was actually filmed in MA and posed as Alaska.  😉

Not much going on down here of interest, but have been very busy so I haven’t been on CC as much. Mike ordered a Tesla model Y which should be in in October November timeframe and I booked a 4 day Freedom cruise next month. I wanted something before our October one. He hasn’t been flying to much so it’s giving us time to get some stuff done.

@harryfat1Did you do the Millennium Falcon:  Smugglers Run?  The line was very long for that, too.

Yes, we did.  Please see my post #28925 where I posted couple pics from the pre ride show.  It was hard trying to take pictures in a turbulent simulator.

We went toward the end of the summer season as many kids in southern CA as well as Bay Area went back to school already by August 12 so the lines were more manageable.

I wish we had known about the behind the scenes tour!  Jim used to have a BSA motorcycle back in the '60's and 70's.

We had avoid amount of OBC so used it for the tour, enjoyed but no need to do again.  Thought I had more pics but can only find this one of motorcycles "in storage".  There were 3 different areas full of bikes, neat to see and an unexpected bonus.

Wow, Andrew!  What a wonderful, worthy cause.  You surely did put a smile on everyone's face!
