Cruise with confidence enhanced

Does the category name have to be identical?

We currently have two connecting ocean view balcony rooms on Harmony that are classed 6D however Harmony is in Europe next year so the closest is Symphony but the connecting rooms on it are classed CB (connecting balcony). Does that qualify? thx

From what I was just told, the category has to match.  We changed a 3B to a 4D on Explorer to be able to move to a 4D on Odyssey.

I am booked on Freedom out of San Juan in September. It is a southern Caribbean itinerary. I have looked at the cruises for 2021 within 4 weeks of my departure date and there are no 7 day Southern Caribbean cruises. There are plenty of Eastern & Western. Do you think they would honor the Lift & Shift because there are no Southern itineraries?

After 1.5 hours on the phone, I was denied Lift & Shift for a February 2021 cruise. I was told that CWC is valid through April 2022, but Lift & Shift is only for cruises between now and September 2020.

Does anyone have a link or anything official that says 2021 cruises are included? The agent checked with a supervisor and the supervisor said it's only until September 2020, but I know from this thread that others have had success.

However, I have just spent 2+ hours....that's hours not minutes....and the most I could get out of the rep was "I'll put you on hold until the Next Cruise dept. is free.....I kid you not, 2 hrs +  Finally, my home phone ran out of battery so I had to hang up!  I am so frustrated right now I could spit nails.  I'm now on hold on the line for new bookings, hoping someone somewhere can help me.  I want to cx my Oct. Liberty purchased with a Next Cruise as long as I get it back.  The statement implies that is the case and they'll just give me another Next Cruise

Honestly, I am shocked... that you have a home phone

You have to move your booking by Aug 1 2020,  but as long as your new booking meets all the criteria you have till April 2022 for the new bookings to said.  So, I would say any sailing departing before April 2021 can be moved within the 1 year window.

Thanks - that's what I tried explaining, but she was firm that her supervisor said no that it's only for cruises until September 2020. Will try someone different later when I have a couple hours to kill.

This was posted by someone yesterday.

2. Do all sailings qualify for “Cruise with Confidence”?
As of May 6, 2020, Royal Caribbean enhanced our Cruise with Confidence policy to now include all sailings
through April 2022 (all open deployment) for those guests booked on-or-before August 1, 2020.

I had to call a second time as well.  I think the first agent just put me on hold for minutes without even speaking to resolutions, cause everything he was telling me as to why we couldn't change was incorrect.

Thank you. I referred to this with the agent and they said that's for "Cruise with Confidence" only and not Lift & Shift.

I asked why the FAQ refers to holiday sailings if it's not valid for cruises after September and she wasn't sure LOL

Will give it another shot later. Thanks!

Keep us posted!

I started the conversation asking for the Symphony (5 nt Western with Perfect Day) and just said that there was not an exact itinerary match for 2021.  I have 2 connecting balcony rooms on the IAS (Western) and she didn't bat an eye at that.  She went to put me on hold to go to supervisor and hung up on me!! UGGH!!

Does anyone know if you have a cruise booked for bermuda and used a $500 off casino certificate if I can use the L&S program.  With casino cruises full payment is due when booked.  So all in I paid about $1600.  Can I switch this to next year and still have benefit of the casino certificate discount?

I am interested in the answer to this also.

From what I was just told, the category has to match.  We changed a 3B to a 4D on Explorer to be able to move to a 4D on Odyssey.

Did you have to pay the price difference for switching categories?

I am on the Explorer as well in a 2T which doesn't exist on Odyssey.  Current pricing on the Explorer for my sailing has increased by quite a bit since I first booked.

To add another layer of confusion, I sent a Facebook message to Royal Caribbean and received this reply:

The shift can only be done for ships in the same class as your current sailing. Since you're booked on Majesty, there aren't any other ships in her class so you won't be able to change your ship but you can change your sail date.

Another case of it changing depending on who you talk to, I think.

Yes, but it was just a $30 difference for us, so not a big deal.

I have not paid my final payment - it is due saturday - if I opt for Lift and shift when would final payment be due?

Changed an August 2020 booking to August 2021 yesterday and the final payment was also moved out a year.

So after I had to call back after being hung up on and then resistance that I couldn't switch to a Western Caribbean with Perfect Day from a Western Caribbean,  the supervisor did end up approving the L&S.  There was not a Western for the same date and since this is the cruise right before the holiday sailings, I don't have much flexibility to move it.  I ended up saving over $6k from what the going rate is for the Symphony cruise in '21.

Edited to Add: I went from IAS to Symphony

Apparently I booked one of the rooms as a refundable deposit, so my next tact was going to be that I would just cancel and eat the $200 deposit on the other room. Fortunately, I didn't have to go this route! I was very patient, respectful and kept telling the agent I appreciated all of his help.

On the phone now trying to change a fall 2020 TA to fall 2021 TA.  Same number of days, same departure and arrival ports, but different port stops in between.  Agent says itinerary must be the same.  On hold, waiting for confirmation of that.  Most of the time the TA's go to different ports each year!

I think your agent does not yet know the rules.

Today we changed our Anthem of the Seas Nov 20 TA cruise to the Jewel Oct 21 TA cruise with no issue. We had to pick this one since it’s the only TA we could see with 12 nights duration. Totally different ports so it can certainly be done.

We also got to pick our desired cabin and the price we have to pay (the original Anthem price) is a lot less than the one they are currently asking for their website for a new booking on the Jewel.

You can change as long as new cruise is +/- 4 weeks of the original date next year.

The cruise has to be the same length.

You. will have to call to see if they consider that the same itinerary.  They have denied people switching from a Southern Caribbean to an Eastern.

The example they gave in tje FAQ’s allowed an Explorer (Rome to Rome) to be transferred to Harmony.

Our Sept. 7th Vision, BCN to NJ was originally 13 nights & RC changed to 11 nights.  I don't see any cruises that this can be switched to.  Vision doesn't return from BCN till Oct. 20, 2021 - 13 nights.
