I know what you mean about amount of luggage, when going off to other places after.

We are over night , night before, and then three days in a hotel, after cruise. Think I need things from the cruise , on the land holiday too. First world problems hey.

Yes, ironing. All very well sending them off to be pressed, but what if you go to out something on, and it has a crease, you hadn't noticed. Can't run down to laundry room to run the iron over quickly if closed. Will need to check well in advance.

What a great problem to have again, worrying about packing.

Sorry to all those who had their cruise cancelled, I do not mean to rub salt in to the wound.

Anyone booked or thinking of booking one of the Iona / Britannia September Med cruises?

I called to book the Iona Med trip this morning but they want full balance by this Sunday!  Would have been happy to book but would rather not part with my cash given the uncertainty with cruising at the minute.

And handbags.......? And definitely take spare meds, 14 days is what they were advising. So that's probably what I will  do!

I have a question that doesn't warrant a separate thread  but as it's a staycation we hope to go on I am putting it here.  Hope  that's ok and hope the gentlemen I know have mobility aids see it.  I couldn't see anything on google. It will be Iona.

As my mobility is taking a bit of a hit (post trauma) I wondered if there is any other way onto the ship apart from that steep 'half mile' zig zag thing.  I'll be fine wandering around the ship slowly but its gradients or uneven ground that get me.

Not to worry though.. I will do it on my hands and knees if need be...I WILL get on that ship.🚢

Can't wait 🤣

Also can't wait to hear stories from those going soon .

Thank you.

You should be able to request an escorted wheelchair assistance, not sure how as we have our own wheelchair, but there are usually half a dozen or more ships wheelchairs being used.

We’ve done shoes, what about medication.  I usually pack a few extra days, thinking this time might need a few more, just in case.  I think P&O mentioned 14 days worth.

I always take at least a months worth, split over different bags.

And handbags.......?

Oh, I forgot the DW's handbags have to go somewhere. On a 12 night Cunard cruise she took at least 8. I say at least 8 as I'm sure she had smaller bags inside bigger ones!

Lucky you. My DW takes 1 and buy's a few more onboard. There goes the OBC.

I moved my 25th September Britannia Med cruise to a staycation.  I didn’t fancy visiting Spain and Italy at the present time.

Anyone who has a seacation booked- are you able to book speciality dining before you board? I don’t go till September so was wondering if it appeared at a certain date!

I think it's the other way round at present, Italy and Germany dont want us to visit them, and Spain only want us for our money. Although things might look brighter in 3 months time.

Hope you make it. Cituadella is one of our favourite places in Europe.

Thanks. This is with a TUI credit. First from the fuerteventura cancellation then the Tenerife cancellation. Looking a bit strange as we booked using BA from Gatwick. BA show this flight is cancelled and BA have rebooked us from Heathrow. We have accepted that, but wonder if TUI will ever tell us🤔. Funny old world. Same as cruises, the customers seem to know more than the travel company's.🤣✈️🛳️

Sounds reasonable to me,  every outfit needs a pair of shoes and a bag to match.

I'm a bit late with this - couldn't log on for most of yesterday - just want to wish you a great time. I bet you are so excited that you can't sleep anyway! Enjoy yourselves and tell all when you return. Best wishes. Jane.x
