It was typical Alaska. Not extremely busy. Some empty tables. Lots of people who have enjoyed their beverage package too much.

The casino was scheduled to open at 8:00. Because of our late departure and probably a little to do with the winds and weather, we did not get into international waters until 10:20 and the casino opened. (Also, we kept getting charged the 10.1% Washington State tax on drinks and purchase until then).

Need some mommy and daddy time on the cruise? Send the kids down to the Entourage Teen Club on Deck 5. (This is a fully vaccinated cruise, so there are no guppies or Splash Academy members onboard). remember to register and attend the first night where friendships

are made.

shouldnt be, no children under 12 at this time, as they're not eligible to be vaccinated

I think he/she meant that no one under 12 is on this sailing because NCL is requiring 100% vaccination.

Excited to go on her August 21st!  Question, for the Eurofins test, do we need to provide the bar code? Or do they already have it in their system and just look us up?  Thanks!

You bring your bar code and trade it foe one of theirs.

No. Splash Academy and Guppies are closed until there are small children onboard. Minimum age on this cruise is a vaccinated 12 year old.

I wonder if the celebration buffet is a one time thing or will be a thing for the next few cruises.

As far as we were told, it was a one time event to commentate the comeback and support the NCL comeback video being filmed onboard.

BTW: Harry and a bunch of execs were sitting a few tables from us in Cagney’s tonight.

There will be more videos. Today is Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Years Day, Independence Day, and all of the Birthdays not celebrated on NCL ships due to the pandemic.

Another poster asked about a handicapped/mobility issue regarding standing in a long covid test line. Do you know if they made accommodations? Hubby is on oxygen and that line would not be manageable for him.

COVID testing at the Marriott was not as successful as they planned. We got in line at 9:30. We got through checkin and testing at 9:50. And for our test results at 11:15 (which includes two crashes of the Eurofin servers. By the time we left, the line to check in stretched for several blocks and looked to be about 90-120 minutes long. They opened the test center at 8:30 for folks with early flights. And were trying to get people to adhere to their reservation times.

You need to pre-register. Those who didn’t had two long lines to stand in.

Hi Bird, did Haven passengers queue with everyone else or did they have a different line?

Sign up with disabilities. Anyone on Oxygen goes under this umbrella. They would be able to assist you with all of this so you don’t have to worry about it.

If you have the opportunity could you snag a picture of the wine list in the MDR.  Curious to see which wines by the bottle are included in the premium plus beverage package; it appeared from some of your specialty dining photos that they have changed from the ones listed on the flyer on ncl.com.

Also would be curious to know if they have said what the cancelation of Kinky Boots is due to (readiness, staffing, social distancing, etc.)

NCL has a series of videos on their website under the title "Embark" that talk about the preparations they have gone through to get ready to sail again.  One of those videos discussed the logistics of putting together a stage show - gathering a cast, rehearsing, etc.  They specifically called out "Kinky Boots" as an example of a show that was so complex in choreography, costuming, etc. that it would not be possible to get it all together in the short time available between the decision to resume sailing and the date of the first cruise.  So, the problem is logistics.

Bummer! That train ride in Skagway looked amazing. Oh well, more time to relax.

Perhaps the only saving grace is knowing that one of the bridges on the rail line is out of service at present, meaning that for now the train only goes part way up the mountain before returning to Skagway.
