Covid questions

Thanks for doing this.  we are scheduled on a b2b2b in Jan 2021 on the Explorer.  We're just wondering how restricted we are going to be.

We are both vaccinated.  Questions for you:

* Are masks required on the Promenade

* Are all the islands letting you off the ship

* Can you only do excursions the Royal, or can we use an independent contractor

* Is Royal doing contact tracing

Thanks so much.  I really hope cruising isn't ruined

1. Yes to the masks on Promenade.

2. Yes.

3. Yes to independent contractors.

4. Yes to tracing or facial recognition.

Things can change between now and then so it’s really hard to tell what will be in place when you actually cruise.

Covid protocols are only released for part of October at this time.

As of right now, yes you must wear a mask indoors except at certain venues that are for vaccinated only such as casino and solarium.

Fully vaccinated can do their own excursions or wander around port.

Some islands require you wear mask at port shops/buses/taxis, etc.  I know St Thomas and Cozumel require them.

I'm not 100% positive but I think they stopped the wearing of contact tracelets

Not sure if this is the right place but.... We are doing a side-by-side in November with 2 different cruise companies.  Wondering what would be the best way to do our covid test while on the first ship?  Any idea if the different companies will be working together?

Depends on the two companies... are they under the same umbrella?  (Like Royal and Celebrity.)

I have B2B in November-December out of Port of Miami.  How does the COVID testing work?  Will I need to find somewhere to do a rapid test after we dock at the end of the first cruise or does Royal have a process to handle it as part of the B2B process?

You could do the proctored emed test.

You will be tested on the ship at the end of the first sailing.

No, they are Royal and CCL

You could likely pay to be tested on the first ship before going to the next ship.

To use the home-testing function, you'd need to make sure your internet connection is strong enough to support the testing process without any interruptions.

I'll be on a 5 night British Isles cruise disembarking on 10/25/2021 with a flight down to Barcelona for a TA on 10/31/2021.  We'll be there for a week before our next sailing.  My question is will RC give me a covid test, that I will be able to use for a flight to Barcelona on British Airlines?  I was thinking you could but you'd have to show those results to the security department at the airport.  Thanks for your advice.

I answered this on your other thread posting.  You’ll be able to take a test on the ship.

They will test you on the ship at the end of the first cruise. It was easy. Typical nose swab.
