I enjoy sailing with Celebrity because they do……..or they don’t

We love Celebrity because

They DO :

-Have beautiful open outdoor areas for smokers to relax and enjoy the view without offending passerbys. As cigar smokers we appreciate it!

-Present a feeling of opulence without fussiness.

-Offer great  drink packages !

-The newer ships have extensive free weight areas in the gym. Including Smith machine/squat rack.

They DON'T:

-Have constant announcements.

-Allow smoking in the casino. Even smokers can be averse to enclosed area smoking!

-Have a class system.  We have never felt like we are treated as "less" or missed out on anything by not staying in a suite.

Well done!  I like your thinking!  We don’t smoke, but you handle the issue with a ton of class and I appreciate that.  The rest is spot on.

Love most everything about Celebrity except their IT department. Their web site and app are the worst in the industry. Why a multi million dollar company can’t invest in upgrades is beyond me. In the past it was an annoyance but now that they are relying on input through their app, it’s beginning to affect my choice of cruise lines.

Just curious, what's your issues with the app? We've now completed sailings on both the Edge and most recently on the Apex and the App has worked great for us, from check in, to include uploading our vaccine card data. Then once onboard it was great for booking/cancelling excursions (unless the tickets had already been issued), checking restaurant menus and making dining reservations (if available) as well as monitoring daily events on the ship. Just curious what issues you are having?

I agree the app works great, is a breeze to use and is so much better than the HAL Navigator app.  We loved it on the Equinox in August.

Why should they? Until they can see that it’s interfering with their bottom line, in a measurable way, there’s no reason to.

I enjoy sailing with Celebrity because they do so many little things well!  I love that Celebrity greets you with a glass of sparkling on embarkation and it feels like "home" when stepping back onboard at the start of a cruise.  Love the tents and infused waters and cool cloths when coming back onboard from port.

I love that they have such great crew and service.  And love the Silent Disco and Cafe Il Bacio.

Thank you for starting such a great thread, Lady Arwen!  😊

Thank you for keeping your comments positive, which is why I started this thread. Sometimes it’s just nice to share the good things with each other.  Lots of other threads where folks can gripe all they want.  Except for a couple of misses, everyone did a great job.  Thanks so much, you all made my weekend!

I love the wine service on Celebrity, with dedicated wine servers and a nice selection.

Also love the Retreat class, even for the Sky Suites, which are about the same size as Princess's mini-suites. Yes, they cost a little more, but the value added is apparently unreachable by other lines.

Overall, a lighter, somewhat breezier feel onboard Celebrity.

Someone mentioned the website - yes pretty bad, but on a recent trip the app performed flawlessly and the onboard tech was unlike anything else we've experienced.

The Interior Design of the ships is also unique to Celebrity and definitely sets them apart from the competition.

Superb service from the crew all around the ship.

Some examples include:

  • Bartender @ the Craft Social Bar who remembered me from previous sailing, including my go-to drink (Old Fashioned) and the fact that I was there to watch Formula One event twice
  • Sommelier @ the Eden restaurant who also remembered me from previous sailing. She remembered my favorite drink on the Eden drink menu (Garden) and she comp'd me twice (without charging me for the difference in the price of the drink and Premium Package limit) b/c she was just happy to see me again.
  • Host @ the Luminae who I've met for the first time while checking in to eat lunch on embarkation day and then never asked for my name or room number ever again for the rest of the sailing. Whenever she saw me approaching the entrance of the Luminae, she just grabbed the menu and greeted me by name.
  • Staff @ the Retreat Lounge who simply learned my routine on the first day. Every day after, whenever they saw me at the lounge, they brought out my go-to tea and small bites without me asking. Extra credit b/c sometimes I was there outside of the hours when they served small bites but they said they might have some in the back and went the extra distance.
  • Staff @ the Retreat Sundeck who simply learned my morning routine, which was: 1) Grab my favorite lounger under a gigantic umbrella. Set it up. 2) While I am setting it up, they bring me some pillows and a bottle of water. 3) Then I head to the jogging track and complete few laps. 4) I return to my lounger, and they have my favorite drink ready for me to either enjoy the view or continue my reading. 5) On rainy days, I like to sit under the umbrella and watch the rain. The staff learned this so when it rained, they just brought me extra towels so I can just enjoy my "odd habit" under the umbrella while others escape from the mayhem.

These are just some of the examples of why I only cruise with Celebrity

These are just some of the examples of why I only cruise with Celebrity. Our next 3 Celebrity cruises are in the Apex and Edge with their enhanced Retreat facilities

Spot on about the Retreat service, our experience has been exactly the same and why we cruise only in Suites now with Celebrity and are making our HAL cruise next year our last HAL cruise. We have 3 future cruises on the Apex and Edge with their enhanced Retreat facilities.

It really is remarkable how well these people remember the small details for hundreds of passengers....

Thinking of the things I sometimes forget, makes them even more amazing!

(What did I eat for breakfast, where did I put my keys, etc.etc.!)

👍👍to all the X crew 💫❤️💫
