Did Mike actually stay on board to do just the welcome show? Or is this a type-o/missed update from the previous week's Planner and Show Page?

I see you've reached Virginia, just about the dregs of Tropical Storm Earl.  He didn't pose any threat, so party on ya'll!   Another depression is coming across which would be called Fiona if she develops.  But they don't think it'll be a problem either.

Radio, Can't tell you how happy Linda and I are seeing you will live review this sailing. We are boarding Oasis for October 2 voyage. We sailed that first week in October last year as our first return to the sea cruise. I must admit that ship at 40% was PHENOMENAL even with masking etc. I knew that capacity would be higher now but hoping not at 100%.  >Snip<

Thanks George. . . The pax count is about 5400 with 200 kids. There we're 2,000 kids on the ship two weeks ago. . . Yikes.

Last October we had 11:30 and they were adhering to it totally. We parked arrived proper time and walked past hundreds of people waiting for their times. Our pass was checked for time and immediately admitted, But like many have heard various accounts now. We are from West Point Harriman area 40 miles north of dangerous apple. So we go day early and stay at Hilton Garden in Staten Island. Also have relatives there so have nice get together for dinner night before sailing. Only about 10 to 15 minutes to cruise so can gauge time well enough though traffic line often long even back then. Also have concern like parking in garage but two ships still sailing for ours hoping not to have to go to overflow. Overflow is the old former parking area. Disembarking is nicer since exit luggage area right at garage load bags area. Will be interested on how you made out.

George in NY

I had a 10:30 check in and I arrived at 10:40. No one was at the door and no one asked to see any pass until I got through security.

last week we were at ~5800 with 800 kids, and that seemed like a low-ish amount. 200 kids is like a rounding error!

Yes, that info was suggested by me in error. The CD was talking to me about that at lunch, and I'm sure he misspoke.

I just left the Diamond Lounge, and Concierge (Kateryna Ivashchenko) looked at the passenger count.

Last Week. 5900 total pax. 800 kids

This week 5600 total pax. 400 kids

Hello everyone and good day. Today was a very relaxing and restful day. The weather today was a little of everything.

I woke up to cloudy skies and light rain while the Sun peeked out for a few minutes and then gray skies and rain. This went on for much of the day until around 2:00 pm when we had sunny skies for several hours.

The Top Tier event was postponed until Day 6 at the same time (10:45am). There was no announcement of the postponement. I found out when I arrived at 10:40 and was told that it was a last minute call.

It seems that Aqua Theater shows have not been working fully due to a damaged hydraulic system.

The Aqua shows have been running at a reduced level due to the hydraulics problem. The pool was empty and workers were fixing the problems.

There is no Aqua show tonight, but we will see if they can get it fixed before the Wednesday night show.

I went to the Cheers with an Officer Lunch today. It was supposed to be in the MDR on Deck 5. Everyone was waiting to be checked in and it was suggested that the luncheon will now be at Giovanni's on Deck 8 in Central Park. Cruise Director Bobby, and the Hotel Director were there to speak and make a toast. It was a great lunch and I was able to meet a few loyal Radio fans from Cruise Critic and my FB group. They were very nice and they have been following my posts for the cruise this week on Oasis of the Seas.

I missed the slot pull at Casino Royale but will try to make it to the next one. I heard it was very fun and all participants were winners. I will say that it is only Day 2 and Casino Royal has been "Radio Friendly"

Here are a few pics from today. Thanks for tuning in.

That sounds great.  6500 passengers with 2000 kiddos was a bit overwhelming when I was onboard 2 weeks ago.

Loving your review, as always😀

Well, I wish they would have had a separate line. But security checks don't seem to offer that here.  After security however, things were very fast. I walked to the check-in representative and she scanned my set sail pass... Then I just went up the escalator and walked on board.

When we arrive at the port we  usually give our luggage that includes our carry on luggage to the porter.  We keep a backpack with us.   What is the benefit of dropping off your carry on luggage if you have the Key over giving the carry on to the porter?

YAY! A Radio Live review!  Just what I need to help me get through these 26 days before I board the Symphony.

You have my permission to turn this into a b2b! LOL!  Enjoy your cruise and thank you for posting during your vacation. I tried to do a semi live in June on the Oasis to Canada and failed miserably. SMH! It definitely takes a special person to report live. Thank you for being that special person.

.

Love following your review.  Hope you're having a wonderful time!

This post got me excited as I hadn't heard of any ship with Laser Tag starting up since the pandemic.  Is it running regularly?  Any extra restrictions?

As well as I can tell Mike Marino was not on ship at all. And he definitely didn't do the welcome show. Collin Moulton did well. Enjoyed both his work at the Welcome show and in the comedy club.

Hi Radio, always enjoy traveling with you, when you say the ship is very crowded are we talking like before Covid and the normal crowded or more excessive crowded. We sailed in July and it was beyond pre Covid crazy crowded. Was hoping it would lighten up some now. We sail on the oasis 9/25, hate to be in long lines again just to get into the windjammer or anywhere as it was in July. Two in our party ended up with Covid, I never in all my cruises have seen the crowds as it was in July and we have sailed in peak times pre Covid. Looking forward to all your reports. Take care and enjoy.

Going to be honest, I saw huge snaking lines at the Windjammer as I walked by. But - also going to be honest, I think only as I walked by at peak time. Otherwise it seemed unremarkable.
