Many items in the Events Schedule in the App are now showing up. I think that it is nice that Oasis of the Seas is having a 9/11 Tribute on Sunday afternoon. . .

Good going re 911 Tribute.  RCI is usually very good at marking significant holidays and events.  Each cruise has had a recognition of veterans and first responders.  Good move, well deserved and well appreciated.

What’s your arrival time appointment? I’m interested in reading your experience. We never had an issue with traffic arriving early but I’ve read mixed reviews on that lately. Though it did seem mostly Adventure cruisers mentioning it.

I am scheduled for 10:30 check in. . . I have read many mixed reviews on arrival, security, and boarding times. . . We will find out soon.

Also interested in the boarding experience. We have an 11:00 time on the 18th, but are in a suite so we will probably target around 10:30.

After sailing both Oasis and Allure this year, that is the one thing (And the ONLY thing) I would like to see changed on Allure.

We’re in a suite too next Sunday. I’d love to hear if you see a suite line outside the terminal. Last year when we got there we got in what we thought was the suite line but it wasn’t marked and the line was long.

Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 1 of “LIVE” from Oasis of the Seas. I am currently enjoying a freshly brewed cup of delicious coffee while at the Residence Inn Marriott in nearby Elizabeth, NJ. I only have about a 20 min ride over to Cape Liberty (Bayonne). It is a very nice hotel that is very clean, and the staff is very friendly.

 

My check-in appointment is for later this morning at 10:30, and passenger boarding time should be between 10:30 and 11am. I stumbled across a very low price on the “Key”, so I should be able to drop my carry on in the MDR as soon as I board.  It appears that the weather forecast for today suggests cloudy skies with some rain (73F).

 

I still must pack up the Radio Pressroom, attach my luggage tags and make sure my documents are handy to show the Terminal Representatives.   I have some friends that I will be meeting on board, and my brother and his wife will be sailing next week. 

 

I will be posting next from Oasis of the Seas later today.

The  "KEY" was priced very low for about 12 hrs. . . Then it went back to $28.

Have a great cruise. We stayed in the same hotel prior to our cruise in Aug20, is it still a very bumpy road to the port?

Hello everyone and good day. I made it on board by 11:00 a.m.

I arrived at the pier by 10:20 and I had a short 5 minute delay to drop off my luggage. I parked my car in the garage and entered the passenger terminal at 10:40.

 

Security took about 10 minutes and then I checked in immediately and boarded the ship. The total time from entering the terminal to walking on the gangway was only 20 minutes. "Impressive Young Skywalker"

I was signed up for the "Key", so I went to the restaurant on Deck 4 and dropped off my carry-on. That will be delivered to my room around 2:00 p.m.

 

I had to stop briefly at Giovanni's Table, for a reservation and "George of the Jungle" seemed very happy to be on board.

It is raining a little and passengers are still out on deck. Sail away is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and I should be back after dinner with more pics.

The security line was a little long, but it was fast.

 

 

 

I made it on board by 11AM

 

 

 

 

The "KEY" Rep secured my carry on.

All cabins opened my 1PM

 

 

 

I give this cabin the "Radio Stamp" of approval.

I thought they had a separate security line for those with the Key? I will be interested to hear your thoughts throughout the week on the Key. We have it for a cruise on Allure in October.

Yes, they are setting up a lot of chairs. It appears that there may be some type of ceremony. There are no officials there around 10:30 this morning.

Well, I wish they would have had a separate line. But security checks don't seem to offer that here.  After security however, things were very fast. I walked to the check-in representative and she scanned my set sail pass... Then I just went up the escalator and walked on board.
