Many items in the Events Schedule in the App are now showing up. I think that it is nice that Oasis of the Seas is having a 9/11 Tribute on Sunday afternoon. . .

I saw the sail away on the webcam just before 4 pm and was moved by the view of New York City in the background.  Curious as to whether the minute of silence was observed onboard.

Hi Radio, always enjoy traveling with you, when you say the ship is very crowded are we talking like before Covid and the normal crowded or more excessive crowded. We sailed in July and it was beyond pre Covid crazy crowded. Was hoping it would lighten up some now. We sail on the oasis 9/25, hate to be in long lines again just to get into the windjammer or anywhere as it was in July. Two in our party ended up with Covid, I never in all my cruises have seen the crowds as it was in July and we have sailed in peak times pre Covid. Looking forward to all your reports. Take care and enjoy.

We sailed Oasis week of 8.28 and had 6500+/- Passengers.  It was very crowded.  Hopefully with kiddos back in school there won't be as many people.

I have cruised a lot and I know that the first day always seems overcrowded. I will find out the numbers tomorrow when I speak to the Loyalty Ambassador and Cruise Director.

I am pretty good at avoiding crowds. Yes, I may miss some events but having a relaxing Cruise and missing a few things is much better than having a stressful Cruise and attending everything there is to attend.

I can't imagine it could be anymore crowded than before covid. The ships normally cruised at more than 100%. If they had more people they would have to add more life boats

I think it seems more crowded because they are short staffed.  Or maybe we were spoiled sailing at the lower capacities.

Are the crew still all masked or is it their option?

I am not sure if it's optional, but every crew member I have seen is wearing a mask (except when they are getting their photo taken.

I agree. We are one those cruisers who like to relax and do enjoy our balcony, reading, sipping a beverage and watch the ocean go by, may sound boring but it’s relaxing to us, plus we pretty much have done everything on past cruises so don’t feel like we’re missing anything. I do want to go to the aqua show, saw it before and loved it, someone has mentioned reservations are tough to get. I’m trying as soon as I connect to the ships wi fi when we board. And yes the first day can definitely be overwhelming. Hoping it spreads out as the cruise continues. Have fun. Looking very forward to reading your great reports. Take care.

Hello everyone and good day. Welcome to DAY 2 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas.

I went down early last night and slept like a baby. Boarding day is much like debarkation day. It wears me out but I am very happy to be on board, and my normal routine didn't change today . . . I woke up at "Radio Dark30" and was very happy to see that the Diamond lounge was open. Coffee was available and was self-serve.

I went down to Casino Royale and was smiling because the slots apparently don't close. They were open and about a dozen passengers were going for gold. . .I didn't think they would open until around 8AM.

I remember reading posts that with so many passengers on board, the Windjammer was crazy busy for breakfast, and the lines were very long. I decided to go to Park Cafe'. It was very quiet and calm in there with only 2 other passengers. It was very nice and Park Cafe' offers a good selection of heated sandwiches, paninis, burritos with bakery items, and fruits.

I have a few activities planned for today, including the Top Tier Event in the Aqua Theater, and "Cheers with an Officer" for lunch.

I will be in a slot tournament later this afternoon with a group that is on board with me this week.

Here are a few pics from this morning. . . Thanks for tuning in.

Welcome to "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas.

Last October, Oasis of the Seas sailed with about 2500 passengers (40%). Currently, the same ship has had over 6500 passengers (over 100%).
I have been following many reports that discuss long lines, lots of kids (over 2500), and staffing shortages. in 2019 and will try to see more over the next two weeks.
I am hoping for clear weather next week, and I am looking forward to entering the Passenger Terminal at Cape Liberty this Sunday.

Radio, Can't tell you how happy Linda and I are seeing you will live review this sailing. We are boarding Oasis for October 2 voyage. We sailed that first week in October last year as our first return to the sea cruise. I must admit that ship at 40% was PHENOMENAL even with masking etc. I knew that capacity would be higher now but hoping not at 100%. Last year no crazy searching for pool area seating was greatest plus of low capacity. Was hoping that with kids back in school our October cruise would be nice and quiet, oh well we will see. Currently sailing only Baltimore and Jersey ships, just don't want to deal with flying seeing so many horror stories. Getting too old to sleep on some terminal floor 🙂

Have a great cruise, we keep missing seeing you onboard again but who knows what the future will bring. We didn't miss you by much this time.

I am scheduled for 10:30 check in. . . I have read many mixed reviews on arrival, security, and boarding times. . . We will find out soon.

Last October we had 11:30 and they were adhering to it totally. We parked arrived proper time and walked past hundreds of people waiting for their times. Our pass was checked for time and immediately admitted, But like many have heard various accounts now. We are from West Point Harriman area 40 miles north of dangerous apple. So we go day early and stay at Hilton Garden in Staten Island. Also have relatives there so have nice get together for dinner night before sailing. Only about 10 to 15 minutes to cruise so can gauge time well enough though traffic line often long even back then. Also have concern like parking in garage but two ships still sailing for ours hoping not to have to go to overflow. Overflow is the old former parking area. Disembarking is nicer since exit luggage area right at garage load bags area. Will be interested on how you made out.
