Ughghhh, I don't even know where to start... When I got back to my room last night I took my sleep meds and CBD oil then tried to go to sleep. NOT HAPPENING... I tossed and turned for a couple of hours, then took another pill and another dropper of CBD. FINALLY, I fell into Dreamland, and boy did I dream hard... It's weird how you have these adventures inside your mind while sleeping, but then you wake up and they're gone. Well, I can still remember several plot lines and scenes vividly... Strange...

 

Anyway, I'm up now, and we're slowly pulling into Old San Juan. Black coffee in hand, but it almost didn't happen. They say there's some kind of "problem" with my account, and I would need to visit Guest Services to straighten it out. Keep in mind, I pre paid almost five hundred dollars for Cheers!, so give me my dang coffee!!!... Of course, I wasn't rude with the cashier, but it peeves me, but she's just doing her job. So, I guess that I'll stroll on down there soon and see what's up.

Good morning from Old San Juan!... I went down to Guest Services and cleared up the problem with my account. They said that I didn't have a payment method on file, but I definitely remember doing that during the online check in. Anyhoo, I gave him my credit card, and I was on my way.

My coffee was empty by then, so I headed straight to Shaq's Big Chicken for a chicken biscuit with egg, fries, and an extra chicken strip on the side...

Another thing that I remembered that I forgot is my hand drawn map of San Juan... I don't know what happened to it, as it's usually in my cruise file with my other "maps"... I've got my Verizon phone, so I should be able to navigate with it. I might also bring my other phone and leave it in airplane mode so I can stay on ship time.

Morning, Sid,

Do you taste garlic powder in the chicken strips? We did on the Radiance so we passed on the strips but all the other sandwiches were very good. Have some fun today.

I'm SO glad Carnival saved a few Yaakov Agam original art pieces from Ecstasy's stairtowers! I hope they saved them all, but I doubt it.

BEST PINA COLADAS EVER at Barrachina Restaurant/Bar. 104 Fortaleza Street. I go there every time!!

Just look for the Mr Piragua cart and all will be right with the world.  And if you venture down toward the ocean from the forts. head up the small hill from the cemetery to La Gratis Yaz.   Great food and drink with a view of the ocean.

I must be a simple man, but my favorite part of my Carnival cruises was the Alchemy Bar.  I literally loitered around it every day until it opened.  Caught up.  Love the review, as always!

I guess that I'm going to start making my way out into San Juan soon. I've got my bag packed and my walking shoes on. I've got hopefully all the supplies I need to survive on dry land for the next several hours. I'm going to bring my real Verizon phone, but I'll probably just take in the sights for awhile before I continue. I've gotta try to get some real vacation time for myself in... Pictures incoming later. 

 

By the way, I'm just going to be winging it for the most part without my map or anything. I'll navigate like the ancient Indians did, by the sun... But, for real, you can pretty much see the ship from several places in town...
