Currently listening to Marine radio on youtube webcam. They are warning people that they have divers in the water. Just told Carnival Celebration that the fire boat is in place and waiting for them.  Prayers to all involved.

Wow upsetting news which will then make Miami airport full of drama rat of day with flights home.

Miami is quite hectic with small boats and at times police have to chase them away from ships.

But a collision in middle of night is odd do wondering what happened

Listening to VHF, sounds like Coast Guard and Marina are getting a little "feed up" with all of the private boats trying to find a way around the blockade...

its always those impatient idiots that ruin things for the people that follow the rules. similar problem on ships

From my experience, alcohol was surely involved.  (I did internship time with the USCG in Chicago and was involved in investigating boating accidents on the lakes.  Fair share of fatalities)  Boaters most likely figured they could cross in front of the ferry, and didn't calculate correctly.

Sounds like this is going to be a long day for the cruise ships. According to marine traffic radio, the north channel remains closed due to the yacht that is sunk in the channel.  Someone on the Celebration just posted that they have been told they may have to divert to another port.

Haven't heard much about what's happening onboard but saw posted for the passengers at the terminal they can check their luggage and there will be a shuttle to the Bayside Marketplace so they can get lunch and $20/pp will be put on their onboard account to cover lunch. A Carnival person will be at the market.  Obviously an attempt to deal with all the people waiting.

Each ship has 2 terminals

MSC C & D

Carnival F & G

NCL B & E

How the logistics are going to be going forward.

All we know is nothing will happen for 6hrs

MSC have got people through security and into waiting areas upstairs in the AC

No idea on NCL and Carnival

we got a taxi from Garage at G to Terminal C, originally we were due to sail out of E

Bjerknes that all changed without any announcement, we worked it out ourselves by talking to port staff

This is one of those times that can be cited when someone asks “can I make the 9am flight home from MIA after my cruise?”

Thoughts with all affected.

They won’t be making a noon flight either.   Poor taste saying this.  People have died in the accident causing this problem.
