Cost of drinks

It’s all inclusive vs a la carte for drinks.  We have 2 upcoming cruises, 1 of each type.  We will see what the better deal for us is.  I suspect Celebrity is making millions off these drink packages.

Can you bring on a pack of coke etc if you purchase it from a supermarket when you are in port or can you just bring it on the day you embark.

Thanks

Embarkation day only.

I'm finding more people opting out of drinks packages. Maybe cruise lines will come up with another option or lower the prices of package. Its obviously a huge money maker especially on port intensive itineraries.

Normally we buy packages as we find with wifi, tips (on other lines), drinks included it works for us.  But Celebrity seems to have a lower $$ amount per drink than other lines.   Will be interesting to see how this cruise goes.  We only have cruised Celebrity one time previously in the mid 90’s but the kids want to celebrate our 50th anniversary with us and this was only option that worked with everyone’s schedule.

X drinks are much more expensive than other cruise lines. X drink pkg also higher than other cruise lines. JMHO!

I am trying to decide if it is worth buying drink package or not.   From what I read the classic includes drinks up to $10 and if over you pay difference plus gratuity.   But what are standard prices?   I have searched on CC and the internet and cannot seem to find any of the drink menus.   I know fancy cocktails will cost more but am looking for typical like Bulleit and diet coke or Titos and diet sprite.   Also can anyone tell me cost of mocktails. Traveling with young grandson that will feel grown up sitting there with a drink.   TIA.

Not really my business, but as a retired bartender why would you mix Bulleit with diet coke, or Tito'd wit diet sprite?  Do you think it sounds distiguished?  I could mix bar bourbon with diet coke and cheap vodka with diet sprite and you would not be able to know the difference.

I think I would know difference on Bulleit…I would drink higher end bourbon but I am mixing and not a sipper like my husband so I leave the expensive bourbons for him.  He has some very expensive bourbons that aren’t meant for mixing.  As for Tito’s…I am gluten free and that is one of the vodkas I can drink.  Have had some bad experiences trying other brands and can’t stand Absolute or Smirnoffs so I stick to what I know I can tolerate.   I know this is personal  taste preference.

Question about the Non Alcoholic package... My son & I drink a lot of water.. If we go to the bar & ask for multiple bottled waters each, they will give us four or more if we ask? I like that Red Bull, Coconut water, sodas, & speciality coffees are also included.. Am I reading/understanding the Non Alcoholic package correctly? We can get as many bottled waters as we want?

I’ve never tried to ask for four at a time, but there is no limit on the number you can get during the day. So if they balk at giving you four at once, take two and go back a little while later and get two more, as many as you want during the day.

Are the drinks complementary in the casino while playing

Usually yes. I think it is limited to certain drinks but not 100% sure as I have always had a drink package.  I know people at the roulette table with me were getting free beers.

You forgot that other cruise lines packages have higher drink limits.  For example Princess has their packages that cover $15 and $20 while Celebrity is at $10 and $17.  You can go to DoTheMath.com but the Celebrity package is grossly overpriced.

Cheap booze is cheap booze, period. I don’t drink it.

I don’t care to be cut off after 15 weak mimosas.

That's absurd for WCB to charge $19 for a cocktail. Most are quite good but certainly do not warrant that type of change. That's too bad as I was planning to go there on the beyond next week but will not bother now

I paid $18 for a Manhattan at our community Clubhouse bar which part of our HOA fee goes to supporting them.  They also add a 20% gratuity on top of that.  I have paid less for a Manhattan in midtown Manhattan and on a cruise ship. I haven't purchased a cocktail from them since. A glass of 4 buck Chuck is $10 plus the gratuity. I think our HOA should offer a drink package.

You are in the wrong HOA 🤣

Anyways ours charges 4 to 6 during Happy Hour.  And the House Wines are better than Celebrity's.  Go figure...

Last week we were at the Westin on the San Antonio River Walk.  They were serving $6 Margaritas that were better than Celebrity's.

Now if you want to compare them to the Las Vegas strip, that is the biggest money-making venture in the world, then compare on 🤣 The drink prices are comparable, but the entertainment does not compare ...

I make a better drink than any of the bars anyone has mentioned so far...  Carry on ...

Celebrity's Margaritas are from a mix. They're ok but not great. I use the Bacardi frozen margarita mix and they are excellent. Same for the strawberry flavour.

I am glad we not have HOA where we live 😁

I don't even know what that is.

HOA is a Home Owners Association.  It's a fee we pay to run and maintain our clubhouse, Bar/Restaurant, sports and fitness facilities, arts and culture facilities as well as home security and landscaping.

Homeowner association, where tell you what to plant, what colour to paint your house

in Ontario, l guess the closest thing we would have we call it a condo board

It's more than that but to your point it guarantees that all homes are well maintained and you aren't living next to or across the street from a dump.
