I would love to see a total ban of all indoor smoking, including the casino.  It’s time, Princess.

Cruise in the Australian region - no smoking at all anywhere inside the ships. 😊

How about cabin doors that don't slam shut!

I understand that they slam closed as a fire safety issue.  It would be easy to place a warning on the back of the door instructing folks to not allow the door to slam closed.  One of our most annoying things when we cruise!

On one cruise we ended up next to a door slammer, ones where they were slamming the door hard against the wall when opening it. After a couple of days of constant slamming we waited until they came back to their cabin, complete with the usual door slam. As we left our cabin I slammed our door as hard as I could against the wall. We never heard another door slam out of them for the rest of the cruise! 😊

I prefer twice daily cabin servicing, especially if I'm in a balcony cabin or lower. Why? There is nowhere to sit in those cabins other than one desk chair or stool so someone has to sit on the bed, and it's much nicer if it's been made up. We shower in the evenings and I hate having wet towels around the bathroom all night. They never seem to dry properly on those miniscule towel racks and there is nowhere else to put them except on the floor.

I suffer from insomnia so those bright night lights are a health issue for me as they wake me up and it can take hours for me to get back to sleep. My "bits and pieces" kit now contains masking tape (painters tape). Sufficient layers of that blocks the sensor nicely.

I agree completely but currently Princess is saving me a ton of money by still allowing smoking in the casinos.

I will not drop one penny in there as long as it's smoking.

Absolutely the same: it’s like diving into an ashtray and rubbing it all into your clothes, skin and mouth. Just a horrid, horrid experience

You've actually done that?

My list is -

#1 Get rid of indoor smoking

Update the app to give me the ability to manage future cruises while I am on a cruise

Show the menu for each day of the itinerary in the app rather than one day at a time

Make the spa menu and booking available in the app onboard

Offer RT Bermuda cruises from New York

Get rid of the baked Alaska parade, especially the napkin waving

Offer OBC or a discount on the Plus/Premier package as an Elite benefit instead of the minibar of random items that must be traded

Offer a discount on the Plus/Premier package as an elite benefit rather than only a discount on stand-alone wi-fi

Offer “to-go” cups for coffee in the buffet

We use a plastic mushroom container from the grocery store .. it fits over the lights we’ve seen on the Crown class ships quite well.  I also use those containers for the little items in my nightstand and one over at the desk.  So, when they are packed, they fit into one another and easy to fill with socks and such in my luggage.   On the Royal class ships,  they have different sized lights outside the bathroom but I am thinking they’ve disabled those lights between the closet and bathroom on the Discovery. ??
I am sure they installed those lights due to safety purposes but they are ridiculously bright and go on and off all the time when the seas are rough.  We take a small hockey puck sized motion light for in the bathroom, the same kind we use at home and the light is dim enough to allow us to go right back to sleep after a nighttime trip to the bathroom.

Another option is to cruise with Celebrity. This is a Princess wish list though 😉

Bravo .. I would love to see the ability to get a discount on the packages or perhaps a free upgrade to the premier if we purchase the plus. I love that suggestion!
We are ones that never ever use our mini bar!  I would like to be able to trade that in for something I would actually use. Although, when we have our white elephant gift exchange at Christmas, you can’t count on the one from us being a box of 40-50 mini bottles of liquor.  🤣  But, a BOGO specialty dinner or a sanctuary pass for half day would be very nice.  Although, since those are already very popular items, not sure if that would be a viable suggestion.

I also love the menu being available on the app ahead of time.  We actually saw that in 2022 but not on all cruises.

I would like to see the "formal" night dress suggestions replaced with something like Celebrity's chic night.

Does anyone want the return of the old fixed dining options?  I'm kind of on the fence.   When traveling just the two of us, we wouldn't use them.  When traveling with the family group, the fixed dining was very convenient.

I would love that elegant chic nights vs the formal nights.  In all honesty, that’s what it has turned into anyway.  My DH used to dress in a tux and me in a formal gown.  That turned into a black suit, dress shirt and tie and a nice dress.  It is now a dress shirt with tie, black khakis and for nice paints and a sparkly top.

We have had good luck when we’d go to the dining room where the restaurant manager would save the same table for us every night but that was before the ships were getting filled to capacity.  We rarely hit up the MDR for dinner anymore.  I have a pretty severe reaction to strong perfumes and so, would prefer not to be seated close to someone that has doused themselves in it.

What we have found is a good number of the crew and even officers also smoke.  So, I guess it doesn’t bother some of them.
I know smokers have paid for their cruises as well, so I respect they have a habit that might be very hard to kick.  But, providing a space outside should be sufficient.  Whenever I go into the casino, the machines I love to play are mostly in the smoking section.  Now, there are a lot of people that just stand over there to smoke, whereas they are supposed to be actively playing.
We used to get a break from it on formal nights (way back when) but not even that anymore.  😞

Smokers are already accustomed to not being able to smoke in public places and many won’t smoke in their own homes or cars.

Smokers haven’t stopped staying in hotels, eating in restaurants, visiting bars and theaters, traveling by planes, trains or busses or attending sporting events. There is to reason that the casino on a Princess ship would be any different.

I’ve seen it too, I can’t imagine why it doesn’t happen all the time.

They need to bring you patters and other paperwork on the evening shift   The patters can change a lot from the app as things are always changing including venue times

To be fair, update the app should make more sense than a printed activity sheet

If Princess is going to send out surveys, why won't they send one our about smoking

We both receive pretty frequent surveys from the Ocean Players Club Waves program. Smoking figures into the questions on many of them. The issue is definitely on their minds. They just need to act. The decision to allow smoking to resume in the casino after it was prohibited after the restart was a huge mistake

I don’t think we’ll ever see the return of old style fixed dining with assignments to shared tables. The number of people who eat in the MDR every night is too small to make that practical.

We’ve been able to get the same private table for our party for the whole cruise about 90% of the time if we ask once onboard

I wish the IT group would make facial recognition available on the Princess app. It's a pain to type ALL the information every time you open the app.

Once I’ve logged in, it automatically opens for me without entering everything again.  My DH was logged out yesterday but he hardly ever opens his app.

On my wish list is 1/ A FAIR PRICED PRINCESS PLUS/PREMIER package for light and non-drinkers.  I'm a very light drinker, but like an occasional specialty coffee.  IMO the packages are NOT A VALUE for a light and non-drinker. YMMV.  I really struggle with being taken advantage of with the packages. Maybe something like a tiered package, 5, 10, 15 drinks at graduating prices.  One size does not fit all. I'd even be happy if they just brought back the coffee package or at least let elites trade the minibar for specialty coffees like we used to do. 2/ Do away with the surcharge to choose your own cabin.  That is actually preventing me from booking a cruise I am looking at because I do not want Princess to choose for me.  I have more, but this is enough for now.

Of note, one of the questions on the survey had asked if there should be a package offered for zero alcohol beverages, on a scale of 1-10.  I rated it of an importance of 5, as we sometimes travel with friends that don’t drink alcohol.  It also asked if me if the alcohol should be unlimited.  Now, we drink a fair amount on a cruise but could never imagine breaking the 15 drink limit.  Again, I gave that one a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10.

We got off our first Princess cruise earlier this month.

My suggestion has to do with the cabin LG TV's. Princess needs to take the time and turn off the "TruMotion" setting. (Soap Opera Effect) It's a simple 4 step process using a remote with full programing functions like the one you have at home.

There is nothing worse than watching a newer multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbuster film and having it appear to be filmed on a high school stage with a camcorder. Once you see it you cannot unsee it.
