Liberty to get waterslide

Royal just announced via twitter that The Liberty of the seas will get a waterslide after her revitalization next January.

Looks like they will be adding slides to quite a few of their ships.

Ugh. Moving more towards families. Might need to rethink future cruises. Not interested in a playground.

I would bet that Flowrider is staying. They are putting Flowriders on all the Voyager class ships, can't see them removing one.

Given their popularity, I don't see any ship losing a flowrider. They just put one on Navigator during it's rehab.

Where do you think they'll put it? My thoughts could be:

1. Cut the full basketball court down to a half, and get some room there.

2. An entry on the deck twelve using the open space above the pools and coming in near the H20 zone.

I'm going by the assumption that it will not have a pool at the end obviously.

I like the H2O zone idea.

Interesting. I'm still anxiously waiting to see the renderings for Majesty. Liberty will be interesting too.

RCL is getting smart. It recognized the one thing that other lines has above it, and so it's starting to add waterslides to their fleet.

PS - but that would be a not so smart move to remove the Flowrider....doubt they would do that as they are trying to gain cruisers, not lose them

Interesting, we will be on the Liberty in August. My husband and I were talking the other night(even before the sliding board post ), that RCCL was getting too family oriented and we are going back to Celebrity after this.

We have done numerous Celebrity and HAL cruises, even one each on Crystal and Silversea for special occasions and certain itineraries.

When we decided to do the Caribbean again this past fall we did the Allure and loved it. It really was great for that itinerary. We wanted to do the New England/Canada and Royal had a nice 10 day.

As some of the other posters have stated, we also don't want a playground atmosphere either and this will probably be our last RCCL cruise.

In my option, the H2O zone already blocks the view from Viking Crown. I much prefer the view from the Voyager class Viking Crown.

No matter where they put it something is getting blocked. Disney has the right idea placing it around the edge of the ship.

I don't think water slides were announced for any ship until well after Freedom was out of dry dock. The first I heard of slides was when Allure was in dry dock

I've got enough space here. Forget the water park in Windosr, you could ride at my house.

That's nice. :rolleyes: We have no real interest in waterslides. I don't understand their sudden fascination with them.....other than the so-called family aspect.
