Elite status- Captian’s Club Cocktail Lounge

Oh, the wonderful world of the Celebrity website. Out of curiosity I decided to use my iPhone, not my laptop. Sure enough, following the link in post #4 gets me to a different set of pages than what I got on the laptop. And there, no mention of internet. So Mr. Click, you are definitely seeing one thing and I, on my laptop, am seeing something different.

No wonder the www in http://www.celebrity.com stands for “world’s worst website”

Thanks. I really did read it four times to be sure..and I am using my macbook pro with chrome.....All of the reports I have gotten about priority tendering is that in places like Santorini and Mykonos there is no priority tendering anymore. There was when we booked this cruise a year ago but all reports say not now....oh well.

There are exceptions . If there are a large # of Elite and up onboard then no priority. Other groups still go first as well. Booking a shore excursion through the ship gets you off first if the excursion is early

On our British Isles Cruise in June I ask the CC Hostess about priority tendering and was told that there was no Priority Tendering for Elite & E+.

That night or we received a voice mail from the CC Hostess that she would be in the MDR and We could meet her there and be escorted to the tenders. There were taking us by groups of 15-20 and escorting us to tenders- we had about a 10 minute wait before we were taken to a tender, some friends waited almost 25 minutes. Seems like they were taking us in small groups and mixing us in with those that had tender tickets and on the tenders with those that had shore excursions with X.

Celebrity is transitioning from the traditional cocktail hour to having three drinks loaded onto your SeaPass card, usable during the same 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. time, same drinks as were available at the cocktail party, same conditions (not the first night and not the night of the Senior Officers Party). You won't know until you are on board which system will be in use for your cruise.

The internet is still there.

I am taking a 4 day cruise on Nov 1st and then immediately after another cruise (not B2B, but on a different ship with Celebrity) The points from the 4 day cruise (4x5x2=40) doing solo in concierge, will give me sufficient points to be Elite (currently I am at 280 pts). My question is 'how fast is Celebrity's website going to show those points' so that when I embark on my next cruise on Nov 5th I get the complimentary 90mins of internet for an Elite? Any suggestions...will the Captain's Club rep be able to help if I can show him/her my record of the 4 day cruise taken earlier that week?

You really shouldn't have to do anything. Your card should reflect your new status when you check in for the second cruise.

Years ago I did a B2B on Zenith, with the first leg giving me enough to be Elite on my next cruise. The new card I got for the second leg did show Elite. But of course if there is a problem let the CC host know, and having all backup couldn't hurt if needed.

Even if they do use the three drink card system what is to preventing you from using it in the sky lounge?

Perfectly acceptable. The 3 drinks for elite and up loaded on the Seapass card can be used in the lounge (name depending on the ship) during the HH (5 to 7:00 PM) or any other bar during the two hour HH time frame. Your choice.

This happened to us a few years ago.  We spoke to the CC host and she contacted the next ship.  When we arrived our cards did not show elite, but the CC host there was aware and had our cards changed very quickly..

cruisestitch,

This is is certainly a b2b even though on two different ships. We have done exactly that and received the b2b credits. Less than 9 days - $50, and 10 days or more $100.

Call the Captains Club and ask!!

Can we used the Seapass Card cocktail perk in BLU while dining between 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM?

It is my understand that you can not use your 3 drinks per night in any restaurants. That might change during the Revolution of the ships if we lose the Sky Lounges. Or they might be starting it now. Scanning a seapass cards is easier than collecting coupons. Staff used to get points or credits for collecting coupons. We have only had the coupons once and that was on a Caribbean cruise.

Ok, here is the "official" low down based on my experience on the Reflection last week.

1. A packet from the Captains Club host or hostess will be waiting for you in your cabin. It will detail all of your benefits and explain how the drinks on your SeaPass card works. There is no mention of priority tendering.

2. We had two tender ports, the evening  before each tender port we all got a phone message from Melissa our CC hostess telling us where to meet her for priority tendering. :). We had a lot of Elites and above on board.

3. Drinks...on the card every night except for the first night, 3 per member good in any bar or restaurant except the World Class Bar between the hours of 4:30pm and 7:30pm. That is an extra hour beyond the normal CC party hours.

4. On the night of the Senior Officers party there was a cocktail hour and drinks on the card were also good. The cocktail hour is from 5pm to 7pm. the Senior Officers party started at 7:45pm.

5. Yes, as Elites we each got 90 minutes of internet for free or a 30% discount on a package.

6.  We each got a a free bag of laundry, 2 items pressed and my own personal favorite, a free scoop of gelato.  Some how my wife got two.....but I never figured out why but the nice lady and the gelato place handed me back our two cards and said "her card still has one more scoop on it.."

Hope that answers all of the questions.

Thank you

In detail, every night except for the first night of your cruise there is a Captains Club Elite and above cocktail party from 5pm to 7pm.  It is usually held in the Sky Lounge or what ever that lounge on each ship is called that is by the forward elevators at the top of the ship.  A nice, glassed in venue where you can sit and visit and sip and sample hot and cold snacks.  Their is a limited drink menu that includes water, soft drinks, beers, wines and hard alcohol and some fancy mixed drinks. It used to be pretty much unlimited for the two hours but now they allow you three drinks per member per night.  If you do not want to go up there you can still get your free drinks at most bars on the ship as well as in the dining rooms and those hours are extended from 4:30pm until 7:30pm.  You can also mix and match your drinks but you only get 3 per night.

One night during your cruise they hold a special cocktail party later in the evening, usually on a sea day for elites and above to meet the senior officers.  That runs for about an hour starting around 7:45pm and they used to skip the Elite cocktail hour on that day but now they hold both.

Hope that makes some sense.  All in all it is a very nice benefit and for me having the option of getting my drinks anywhere on the ship by having them loaded on my card is very nice. Keep in mind my drinking consisted of a diet coke and a couple of bottles of water for the next day :).

When we were on the Infinity (September 2018) the other venues that accepted the Seapass drinks did it in conjunction with the HH, 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Possibly that has been another change since we cruised that will be fleet wide.

Could everyone please choose darker type?  The cursive is not legible against the background glare as seen on my iPhone.

Try changing your background color. Looks great on my laptop. The font I'm using is darker than the default font which is darker than what you are currently using.

I wish Celebrity would open up the Elite Happy Hour like Royal C does with the Diamond Happy Hour.   We loved our first Royal Transpacific cruise in April/May where happy hour was from 4:30 to 8 and while in the Diamond lounge you could order as many drinks as you wanted, but still have three drinks on your sea pass card.  You could order drinks in the MDR or a specialty restaurant until 8pm.   In fact, for that 23 day cruise we spent 0 on alcohol due to the great Diamond Happy Hour.

I think perhaps you provided your own explanation for the limited happy hours on Celebrity. :classic_dry:

True, the better the benefit the less we will spend on alcohol.   Still, the Celebrity Elite happy hour does save us on what we spend for alcohol.   We might spend $250-$300 for the two of us for a 14 day cruise, mainly on wine with dinner.  We don't care for the beverage packages.   Another reason that we now take mainly repo cruises and transatlantics that don't require us paying for the bundled price that includes drink packages.
