The dessert I should most look forward to?

RCCL doesn't get very good reviews on their desserts and having only cruised with Carnival, who has the most awesome Chocolate Lava melting cake, I'm getting a bit bummed about what our choices will be. I ate that Chocolate melting cake every night of our 7 night cruise - delicous! Their creme' brulee was pretty awesome too.

So....for our upcoming Liberty of the Seas cruise - what is the one dessert I should definitely order & look forward to?

I'm extremely disappointed with any complimentary dessert on Royal, Celebrity, and Disney. The only one mentionable that is good to great is the Mud Pie in Chops. I agree with OP, the Chocolate Lava cake on Carnival was the best dessert I had on a cruise ship.

I'm with the Soufle crowd. I like them. I don't get them anywhere else, and they are quite good. I also like the creme brulee. The deserts in any specialty restaurant are good, but I'm always so full I never order them.

Have to agree, the Carnival Molten Lava cake is 1st in my book among all cruiseline deserts.

I also find the desserts on cruises hit or miss (though Carnival has a few of the better ones). There are a couple of standouts on Royal though. The best advice I can give is to avoid most of the desserts in the dining room labelled "cake" because they rarely are (at least at dinner) - they call them cake but they often come out as some kind of cake/mousse/cream/other mixture. Most things labelled as a "Mousse" were good and many of the fruit based desserts were acceptable.

Blueberry-Peach crumble:

Key Lime Pie was good (not the diet version - that was a bright green fake mousse kind of thing):

Ivory Chocolate mousse was very good:

And from the MDR's at lunch I highly recommend sticking around for dessert because you'll find 2 of the best:

Chocolate Hazelnut cake:

Chocolate Raspberry tart (the raspberries are on the bottom, right above the crust):

If they offer Jaffa Cake - get two. One for you and one for me :D

I think it is called a Mud Pie. You can get it from chops, very good. It does cost about $5:00. You can just go in and get it to go. From the MDR try the sticky bread and butter pudding

I didn't know you could get the mud pie to go. Glad I read this thread. I wonder if you can order it in the MDR? That would be nice to do some night. I know you can order steak from Chops in the MDR. Might be worth a shot on my upcoming Indy cruise.
