A Review of My Celebrity Cruise (New Approach)

Because I will be tired, cranky and depressed when I get back from my Adriatic Cruise and will have a ton of work awaiting me, I have decided to write the majority of the cruise now. No, I'm not the Amazing Kreskin but I can rely on the insight of previous cruise reviews and feedback to determine what areas to cover and the likely responses. Here it goes.

 

1. The Celebrity Silhouette is a ____.

a. 5 star experience

b. Great value based on the price we paid

c. Step away from being a garbage scow because of all the cutbacks

 

2. The food in the MDR ____.

a. Is fine dining at its best

b. Meet expectations as they are preparing 10,000 dishes a day

c. Had meat that had spur marks on it

 

3. The entertainment ____.

a. Better than what you can find on Broadway

b. Was mediocre. What do you expect on a cruise?

c. Is the day the music died

 

4. The drink package ___

a. Was awesome and a great value

b. Was awesome and a great value

c. Created a drunken atmosphere so dangerous that my 6 year old could not leave the cabin

 

5. My fellow passengers ____.

a. Were elegant and sophisticated like the days of old

b. Were nice and fun to be with the exception of a couple of clowns

c. Were all riff-raff and unsophisticated slobs

 

6. The buffet ______.

a. Was magnificent

b. It was ok because it is a buffet

c. Was worse than the buffet from Vegas Vacation

 

7. The staff ____.

a. Was great

b. Was great considering all they have to deal with

c. Was disrespectful, as all 600 did not remember my name and be available at my beckon call

 

8. The carpet ____.

a. Was in fine shape with slight wear and tear

b. Who spends there time looking at the state of carpet on a cruise ship

c. Was worse than carpet in a frat house after a weekend of partying

 

9. The kids _____.

a. Were perfect little angels.

b. Were well behaved for the most part-- after all they are kids

c. Were monsters. It was Lord of the Flies on the ship.

 

10. The music _____.

a. Was a perfect mix for old and young

b. Was fine. I didn't really notice it.

c. Was horrible as it was way too loud. I think they were playing death metal in the Martini Bar.

 

11. The Cabin _____.

 

a. Was better than a room at the Four Seasons

b. Was perfectly fine and met our needs

c. Was horrible and there was so much mold that I could create penicillin.

 

12. Overall, the cruise ______.

 

a. Was the greatest experience ever

b. Was great way to see Italy with family and was a relaxing experience

c. Was horrible because Celebrity has changed so much (they got rid of the Splenda)

What about the PORTS? Aren't they important? I took the Adriatic cruise last November and it was one of the best I have ever taken.

Have a great cruise. I'm currently on board the EQ enjoying a very nice sea day and a great cruise. I looked in to check out the board and I see the usual cast of moaners are hard at work earning their money. Just glad I haven't met those types on board this ship. Hopefully your cruise will be as good as this one.

I am off on the millenium in August and have found the reviews interesting ! ( to say the least ).To provide a bit of a balance I thought I would check the reviews of other cruise lines. I have decided there is no hope for any cruising after i read the reviews for Cunard , if the likes of the Queen Mary are rated as a cesspit ( poetic licence ) at least I can be happy that I spent less money on the rotten hulk of millenium ;)

13. The City of Rome ____.

a. Is where history comes alive

b. Has amazing places such as the Vatican

c. Was disappointing. I wanted to try Italian style pizza but could not find a Pizza Hut.

 

14. Dubrovnik _____.

a. Was beautiful beyond belief

b. Is where I would like to retire

c. Was disappointing. Why does no one speak "American"?

OMG!!!

 

Parallax - too funny! I didn't know what to expect when I opened the thread, but now I am glad that I did. I even saved to my favorites to go back. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Your cruise sounds wonderful and one day I will get there as well. Enjoy your vacation. :D

The next step is to analyze the answers -

mostly a - you should be sailing with Celebrity

mostly b - NCL for you

mostly c - should you really be cruising?

 

Note - I couldn't read the original post when replying, so these are just suggestions.
