To avoid Spring Break?

Spring or Winter Breaks can start as early as mid February, and run until the middle to later April.

How to avoid? Go on a cruise longer than 7 days. Don't cruise the Caribbean in that window. Go on a nicer/more expensive cruise line, Like Holland America, Celebrity, or higher.

Peak time of college spring break is late February thru mid March. By mid-April most colleges and universities (at least here in Florida) are already gearing up for final exams.

Peak large family group time is in the weeks leading up to Easter, which is a bit late this year (April 20). My personal must-avoid list has large groups of teenagers ahead of drunken fratboys--but if it is those fratboys you are trying to avoid, there will be far fewer of them the last two weeks of April than early March as you propose.

What's the best time to cruise in the Spring to avoid the Spring Break crowds?! I figure all of April is in the strike zone. Would the first or second week in March be good?

DS has his college spring break the first week of March. DD has her high school spring break the first week of April. You could hit spring breakers anytime in March or April.

"Spring Break" is really no different than other times...all sailings are "full"....of course, any short cruise will have more "partiers" onboard than longer trips...but you are under no obligation to party-hardy! There are still plenty of quiet places on the ship to be!

I've taken several spring break cruises. DH teaches at a community college, so that is one of the weeks we can go. The best thing to do is find a ship that has plenty of adults only areas. Avoid ships that attract college age kids. We have never had a problem on Holland America or Princess.

Princess, HAL, & Celebrity are good choices for a week or more because they don't attract the Spring Break crowd.

Avoid very short cruises (3 or 4 nighters) especially on Carnival or NCCL. ;)
