Diamond members ( Free Drinks )

Recommended Posts

Can't wait to be diamond. I have 66 points as of now and Allure of the Seas in Sept. i do not know how many points i will get? But i know i am close. I like the free drinks deal.

You will need 80 cruise points before you are diamond. You earn 1 Cruise Point for every night you sail. Double the points when you book a suite.

If you're in a suite on Allure, you will get 14 points and reach Diamond. Otherwise, you will be 7 points short.

I am not sure what you *think* you are saying, but................

Just in case anyone is confused by your post:

The drinks don't have to be "mixed". The list is merely the brands of liquor that are available. They can be in many different kinds of drinks, but no "fancy" or "blender" drinks. You can, for instance, get a cosmo and (usually) a lemon drop. You can also have scotch straight up.

Almost every ship now has a Diamond Lounge, and even those that do not are treating some designated area as the DL. That means that you are no longer limited to wine & champagne for free.

The three drink vouchers are in addition to any drinks that you may have in the Diamond Lounge; no one scans your card in the DL.

They will probably change the rules when i get to be diamond

are there any snacks or drinks available during the day (not including breakfast or cocktail hour)in the Diamond Lounge besides coffee? I was wondering if we can grab a bottle of water or something midday?

There's nothing other than the coffee machine during the day.

It's not unusual to see fruit and cookies. I remember JD on Radiance would put out small sandwiches around lunch, but that is rare.

Three per Diamond passenger/per day. The hours are the same as when the Diamond lounge is open - usually from 5-8:30. Any bar on the ship is good. You can also get free drinks in the Diamond lounge over and above those three.

Check with the ship you are on, I've been hearing varying reports. It has been said that you can not use your Diamond drinks in the MDR, but a few people have been reporting being able to do so on a couple of ships. I was thinking I was told that this didn't include the Rising Tide bar on the Oasis class, but I forgot to try!

FWIW, I was able to use them in the MDR on my June 4-11 Oasis cruise. The concierge told me they had changed to rules 3 weeks prior and the 3 drinks could now be used literally everywhere including MDR, WJ, and all specialty restaurants.

Great to know it saves getting Diamond drinks in the bar and carrying them into MTD.

I appreciated the change for just that reason too. After a few nights, our waiter would bring those of us who were ordering the same drink every night one without us even asking.

We did a B2B Caribbean cruise on the Jewel 2 April and 9 April 2017. We had MTD. On the first leg of the cruise there was a floating/roaming bar waiter. I asked if we could get our diamond dinks in the MDR. "Yes, of course". So we both had a glass of wine each evening with our meal from him. Second leg of the cruise. Same table. No floating/roaming bar waiter. I asked our waiter (different wait staff) about getting our diamond drinks and he said, "sorry no can do". No biggie. We would grab a couple of glasses of wine from the schooner bar and take them in the MDR. Never hurts to ask.

On explorer right now and you have to visit the tavern bar right outside mdr on deck 4 or the casino to get a drink.

DL on this sailing you can find a seat anytime. The overflow outside is available but the lounge was never crowded. At the most maybe 40 peeps occupying seats. Only 118 d and 24 d plus members on this sailing. This must be what the diamond events and cl used to be back in the day. So relaxing and stress free.

Also there are snacka througout the day like in the cl. Lunch there would be nachos and sandwiches. Nice touch by christopher the concierge.

Good news. I'd wonder if that applies to the rising tide, but no sense worry about it, it's 666 days till I see a Rising Tide bar again. The rules will probably change by then. I guess they don't want it to turn into a mobile Diamond lounge :)
