Tipping Captain's Club Hostess

Back to the actual question:

Is it considered proper to tip the Captain's Club Hostess?

Simple!

If you are happy with services received and you wan't to show your appreciation by giving a tip DO SO! It is your choice and why would it not be proper.

Expecting tips or not, any host/hostess will see it as a sign of appreciation.

Some guests will say thank you with kind words, some with a tip - all is fine!

It is all better than the attitude staff gets from some other guests...

So do not worry if proper or not. Good will will always be appreciated for just that and can not be inappropriate.

The " appropriate answer", well said.

Tip if you want to but if you want to help the person long term, get a comment card and write a glowing "performance review" while you are onboard. Don't wait for the email questionnaire when you get back home. I have been told by several officers that the hand-written reviews given during the cruise have significant impact for potential pay increases and consideration for additional responsibilities. More so than the questionnaire because the focus is on one person.
